“Drew is literally the new Shiloh!” — General Hospital fans think Drew’s recent actions are turning him into chaos-causing character Shiloh Archer

On General Hospital, fans have criticized Drew Quartermaine's (Cameron Mathison) recent behavior, which has begun to draw parallel comparisons with the infamous Shiloh Archer. This is because Drew displays a controlling attitude toward Willow Tait and continues to make dubious decisions, which is dividing fans.

Many regard his actions, such as speaking on Willow's behalf and seemingly taking her away from her family, as manipulative, fuelling a growing backlash. The situation took a turn for the worse when Drew went about reuniting Willow with her children; fans feel he did this less out of benevolence but more for selfish reasons.

Some view Drew as an antagonist character, doing what he does out of malice, setting up the character for a love-to-hate feeling in Port Charles. Others still see him attempting to protect Willow but through control, not different from Shiloh.

A lot of the fanbase agrees with the comparison. Many pointed to Drew's habit of speaking for Willow and his apparent dominance in their relationship:

Others accused the writers of sending Drew's character down this road, where his behavior is completely in contrast to the strong, independent image he used to be known for.

A subset of fans focused on Nina Reeves, calling her a partner in crime with Drew because she did not expose his relationship with Willow's mother.

Drew's latest developments in General Hospital

Drew's first clash with Michael Corinthos happened when he began an affair with Michael's wife, Willow Tait. Michael decided to divorce Willow after finding out about the affair. However, Drew continued his relationship with her.

Last week in General Hospital, Willow took the kids she shares with Micheal out of state to attend Drew's swearing-in ceremony without the former's consent. This upset Michael, who later used it to strengthen his case for gaining custody of the children during the divorce.

In a recent episode, Michael was seriously injured in a fire at Sonny Corinthos's house. He was rushed to the hospital and is still recovering. Drew's efforts to support Willow during this time came across as controlling, sparking backlash from viewers. He was seen encouraging Willow to use Michael's condition to her advantage in the custody battle.

Drew's actions, including speaking on Willow's behalf and taking charge of sensitive issues, have raised concerns about his intentions.

While Willow was initially portrayed as strong and independent, she is now criticized for seeming passive and overdependent on Drew. This new twist in her character development has led to discussions among fans about whether she will be able to stand up to Drew or let him continue to call the shots for her.

Drew's transformation into a divisive figure has drawn comparisons to another infamous character in Port Charles' history, Shiloh Archer. This makes one question whether Drew's actions are from selfish motives or an ill-informed attempt to protect those he claims to care about.
