Sam McCall has been part of the General Hospital storyline for over two decades. The episode aired on October 25, 2024, showed Sam being wheeled into the operation theater after she bid a final goodbye to her loved ones. Sam, short for Samantha, was born to Alex Davis when she was a 16-year-old, in 1980. Put up for adoption, baby Sam was taken in by Cody McCall, a con artist, who trained Sam with his crooked ways. She arrived in Port Charles in 2003 as her introduction to the soap's storyline.
After her affair with Sonny Corinthos left her pregnant, she found a friend in Jason Morgan. At that time she met Alexis when Alexis's daughter Kristina needed a stem cell donor and Sam's unborn baby was a match. However, an altercation with Alexis led to Sam's collapse and a stillborn baby. While Sam was furious with Alexis, she found a romance with Jason.
Over the years, Sam reconciled with her mother and went on to have many romantic alliances. However, after Jason, her most significant relationship has been with Dante Falconeri.
On her work front, Sam remained embroiled in many unlawful activities as well as some legal businesses including co-ownership of Aurora Media and co-founding Ashford & McCall Investigators.
