General Hospital fame Kelly Monaco debuted in Port Charles as Olivia "Livvie" Locke Morley in 1999, and she portrayed the character until 2003. She also played Tess Ramsey on the show from 2002 to 2003. Later, in October 2003, the actress stepped into the role of Sam McCall on General Hospital.

Speculation is building around the expected death of Sam McCall due to the ongoing storyline. This development would also mark the exit of Kelly Monaco, drawing significant attention.

Fans have made it evident that they are quite upset about where the storyline is headed. They are eager to see Kelly back on General Hospital. In a show of solidarity, fans united and paid for a billboard at Times Square to rehire Kelly Monaco.

Images and tweets were posted by the account @IStandWithKelly on X (formerly Twitter). The page identifies itself as the "official campaign headquarters" of Kelly Monaco. The account shared images of the electronic billboard lighting up in Times Square on September 20, 2024. The Billboard stated:

"#IStandWithKelly: Rehire Kelly Monaco on ABC's General Hospital."

In addition to the billboard, the campaign features a truck named "The Phoenix on Wheels." This truck drives around Los Angeles and Prospect Studios, where General Hospital is filmed.

An X user said:

"I remember thinking how lucky Jason was to have been loved by you every time you talked about him. One idiot he was for leaving you that night getting shot. You deserve to have him back even if he doesn't deserve to have you. 😭 #GH #JaSam #IStandWithKelly #KellyMagic."

Fans also came in support of the actress and shared some cherished memories of Sam from General Hospital:

"Kelly Monaco & Dom Zamprogna made magic out of the scraps given to them for 3 years. I celebrate them and their ability to create a touching love story for #Sante. You deserved better as actors. #IStandWithKelly," a fan commented.
"Sam so excited to see Dante, she always puts the work in her scenes. #KellyStrong #IStandWithKelly," another fan said.

Some fans also disagreed with the decision to let go of the character and the actor from the show.

"Still here. Still fighting. Still rising above the noise. We will fix this terrible decision. I have all of the belief and faith 🐦‍🔥❤️‍🔥http://Change.org/KellyMonaco #IStandWithKelly #KellyMagic," one fan stated.
"#IStandWithKelly #KellyMagic @nathanvarni @valentinifrank @ABCNetwork @craigerwich Please reconsider your decision to fire Kelly Monaco and rehire her. She is loved so much by so many people and means the world to us. I cannot and will not watch Gh without her on the show," another fan said.

Additionally, Soaps published an article on September 23, 2024, stating that the fans had signed a petition to get Kelly back on the show.

There were rumors of Kelly Monaco leaving the show since the beginning of last month. The actor's exit was confirmed by Soap Opera Network on August 26, 2024. According to the current storyline, it is predicted that the character might be written off from the show.

However, to fans' delight, Soap Opera Digest reported on September 23 that Kelly is back on the sets of General Hospital and will soon be seen on screen.
