General Hospital spoilers: An emergency that has something to do with Dex Heller 

Dex Heller, Evan Hofer's character on General Hospital, is in for some trouble as per the soap's spoilers. The character was stabbed in the back in Tuesday's episode after breaking up a drunk scuffle during his routine patrol. While he seemed on the way to treatment and recovery, spoilers hint at Joss, Dex's girlfriend, receiving disturbing news, which may be connected to Dex.

As one of the longest-running ABC soaps, General Hospital often presents challenging situations that lead to a character's temporary or permanent exit. Fans know the soap's plot revolves around the titular medical facility in the fictional Port Charles town, including law enforcers and mobsters.

Dex Heller is an Army vet-turned-law enforcer. While he has brushed shoulders with the town's mob boss, Sonny Corinthos, his recent encounter with Cyrus Renault seems to have landed him in trouble.

General Hospital: What are the current plot dynamics for Dex Heller?

Dex Heller was out on his regular patrol duty along with his colleague, Lauren Jackson, on the General Hospital episode dated December 10, 2024. While patrolling at Rice Plaza, Dex and Lauren stopped to talk to Felicia Scorpio.

At the plaza, ex-mobster Cyrus Renault rang his bell asking for donations, a group of football players appeared in the area and started a drunken brawl. Dex and Lauren helped put a stop to the fight and scattered the group, while Dex confiscated alcohol bottles from one of them.

Dex went into a back alley to pour out the alcohol into a trashcan. While doing so, an assailant dressed in a back jacket and black gloves stabbed Dex in the back and escaped. Dex collapsed on the ground and fainted after informing Lauren about the stabbing.

Dex Heller was taken to General hospital. He informed co-policeman Harrison Chase about the incident before being wheeled in for surgery. Chase went on to investigate the incident while the medical staff ensured Dex's condition was stable.

Is Dex in danger on General Hospital?

On Monday's General Hospital episode dated December 9, 2024, Dex was seen talking to Cyrus Renault at Rice Plaza. The cop remarked about seeing Cyrus near the hospital during Halloween despite being refrained from meeting his family. The former mobster assured Dex that he was not there to visit his relative Lulu Spencer. However, he did not elaborate on why he went to the hospital.

In the next episode, Cyrus was shown reminiscing about administering digitalis into Sam McCall's IV bag killing Lulu's liver donor. While the hospital staff is still investigating the source of Digitalis in Sam's autopsy report, Dex may have thought things out from the right perspective. As such, he would become a danger for Cyrus pushing the criminal to try to silence him.

Dex's attack in the location around Cyrus and the back story of his previous conversation with the criminal, point to Cyrus's role in Dex's stabbing. However, Dex is supposed to go through a surgery that would cure him. If Dex lives, Cyrus's crime may still get exposed. As such, the criminal may consider eliminating the rookie cop permanently.

Whether Cyrus uses Digitalis again on Dex or employs some other method to stifle the policeman remains to be seen.
