After Sam McCall's death on General Hospital, her children, Danny and Scout, were slated to stay with their parents. This was before Alexis read Sam's old will, where she instructed Drew to take care of both kids. While an angry Jason planned to file for Danny's custody, Drew declared that he would need to move to Washington, D.C.
This would have meant that Danny and Scout got separated from each other and Dante's son Rocco. However, with Drew ready to leave Scout behind in town and Jason and Dante planning to move into the Quartermaine mansion, the three children will remain together.
Newly introduced fans may know, General Hospital is one of the longest-running American daily soaps, airing on ABC since April 1963. The soap's plot is set in the fictional Port Charles township involving the staff of the titular hospital and the town's residents.
Fans are happy with the decision that the two fathers, Jason and Dante, have taken to keep the children together. One fan, named Angela Ho, commented:
"Good move. Can't wait for their Thanksgiving dinner!"
Angela was replying to a Facebook post by Eileen Peterson Pollacek where Eileen posted an image showing Jason, Dante and the three children in a frame stating the family would live in the mansion as Drew left.
Most fans have expressed happiness that Scout would live with her brothers rather than with the ever-absent father, Drew.
Others have asserted displeasure over Drew with relief over his impending relocation away from Port Charles.
While some viewers have wondered about Willow's presence, others expressed concern about Alexis and Tracy's reaction to Jason and Dante's decision.
General Hospital: What brought about Jason and Dante's decision?
The General Hospital episode which aired on Thursday, November 21, 2024, found Sam's mother Alexis inviting Drew Cain and Jason Morgan to her office. She enquired about their fight and read out Sam's will.
While Jason realized that Sam had written the document before knowing Jason was alive, he was determined not to let Drew near Danny. As such, Drew is ready to leave for Washington.
On the other hand, Dante Falconeri decided to leave Sam's place and look for a house for himself and Rocco. Chase assured him that he and Rocco would love to stay at the Quartermaine mansion and suggested he move in there permanently.
In the next episode, Dante made breakfast for the three kids as Jason walked in. Soon, Jason walked in and offered to get coffee. Jason had an open discussion about Sam's will and Danny's custody. While Jason wanted Danny to choose where he wanted to stay, Dante informed Jason about wanting to look for a place to move in with Rocco.
A loud crash from the other room sent the two fathers to look in on the kids. They witnessed how Scout dropped paints on the floor and worried about Tracy's anger, while Danny suggested that work together to clean up the place. This made Jason and Dante realize that the three children needed each other after losing Sam.
As such, Jason declared that he would move in with his son, as did Dante, while Scout informed them that Drew had allowed her to stay back. With this, the two fathers came to respect Sam's wishes for the children. Whether Drew continues to create problems with Jason, or Alexis rejects the idea, remains to be seen.
