The General Hospital preview for the week of November 11 to 15, 2024, showed a glimpse of Lucky Spencer's intentions and his future in Port Charles. In a conversation with his ex-wife Elizabeth Webber, Lucky said he might not stay in Port Charles for much longer.
There has been no announcement that the character or the actor Jonathan Jackson is leaving the soap; hence, this might just be an uncertain throwaway statement by Lucky.
However, it seems that the dialogue has rubbed many audience members the wrong way, who took to social media to express their views about the character:
Fans expressed their views about Lucky's statement about his departure, claiming that it was highly unlikely that the character would leave so soon after being introduced again on screen:
A few netizens even discussed the character's return and how it may not have met up to the expectations they had from Lucky:
All in all, many fans were of the collective opinion that Lucky might need to up his game to grab some attention on the soap and further his storyline into a more interesting one:
Has Lucky Spencer left General Hospital before? What is his current storyline on the soap?
Yes, Lucky Spencer has previously made exits from the soap, most notably after his son Jake Spencer was killed in a fatal road accident in 2011. He left town to find mental peace and find a way to cope with the grief that came after the death of his son.
However, in 2015, it was revealed that Lucky had been kidnapped by one of his father Luke Spencer's enemies. The character Frank Smith wanted to use Lucky as a pawn to get revenge on Luke.
While bringing Frank down, Lucky also discovered that his son's supposed death was a hoax and Jake was actually alive. The father-son duo reunited in Port Charles and Lucky spent some time with his family. However, he felt unsettled and expressed the need to move again, bidding goodbye to his family for a hasty exit once more.
In 2024, Jason and Anna traveled to Africa to rescue Lucky, who had been taken into custody by the mobster Sidwell. He was expected to be an organ donor match for his comatose sister Lulu, who needed sudden liver surgery to keep her alive.
Later, Sam McCall was revealed as the organ match for Lulu, not Lucky. Regardless, he has stayed in Port Charles as a part of the storyline to provide support for his sister, should she need it.
Audiences can watch Lucky Spencer's story progress on General Hospital via the ABC Channel. New episodes of the soap are released on all weekdays.
