It blends romance, rivalry, and friendship and continues to be a fan's favorite scripted American daily soap opera. The show premiered on NBC television but was moved to its streaming platform Peacock in 2022.

Melissa Reeves portrayed Jennifer Horton on Days of Our Lives in a recurring role. She is the only actress who has repeatedly played the role for over 35 years. She played the role from 1985 to 1995, 2000 to 2006, and 2010 to 2022.

Jennifer Horton is the daughter of Bill and Laura Horton, she is also a member of the core family, the Hortons. The role originated with Maren Stephenson in 1976. However, over the years various actresses have played the role.

Maren Stephenson originated the role in 1976 and played till 1977, Jennifer Peterson took over the role in 1977 and exited in 1979, thereafter Melissa took over as a recurring character. Stephanie Cameron also played the role briefly from 1995 to 1998, and Marci Miller in 2021. Currently, from 2020 Cady McClain plays the role to date.

As mentioned before various actresses portrayed Jennifer Horton but Melissa is the only actress who has played the role for over four decades. She joined Days of Our Lives in 1965 and quickly became a fan favorite.

From 1965 to 1995. Melissa played the role of a journalist who hustles her way through the fictional city of Salem. She meets Jack and falls in love with him. Furthermore, they face ups and downs in their lives. She and Matthew Ashford were widely loved as Jennifer and Jack and were called the super couple.

In 2000, Melissa returned after a five years break. Her storyline significantly included the presumed death of Jack and her struggles to move on. Her resilience became a central theme during these years. However, she exited in 2006.

She made her comeback in 2010 and was consistent in the show until 2020. During this period, her character had a reunion with Jack, who was alive. This gave fans emotional and powerful moments. Simultaneously she battled with addiction and played a key role in the storylines of the Horton family.

After a small hiatus, Melissa made a brief appearance on the show back and forth in some important scenes and storylines, playing a central role in important decisions related to the Horton clan.

Currently, Cady McClain portrays the role of Jennifer. However, Melissa is expected to appear in a slated episode of Doug's Memorial, which will be aired in November 2024.

Melissa Reeves is an American actress, she was born on March 14, 1967, in Eatontown, New Jersey, and was raised in Red Bank. The actress's maiden name is Melissa Brennan. Her father was a Disc jockey for a radio station in Asbury Park.

Melissa studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Manhattan and wanted to be a dancer. However, she acted in television commercials to help pay for her dance classes.

Melissa started playing Jennifer in Days of Our Lives from 1985 and played the role till 1995, thereafter she reappeared in 2000 and exited in 2006, she resumed again in 2010 and continued to play the role till 2022. She was also nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1992 and 2016 respectively at Daytime Emmy Awards.

She has also won Favorite Daytime Super Couple, Best Daytime Wedding, Best Love Story Daytime or Primetime, and Hottest Female Star at Soap Opera Digest Award in 1992 and 1994.
