Which actresses have played Taylor Hayes in The Bold and The Beautiful?
1) Sherilyn Wolter and Hunter Tylo's take on Taylor
Sherilyn Wolter portrayed Taylor Hayes briefly in 1990 on The Bold and The Beautiful.
After Sherilyn had left the role, Hunter Tylo took over as Taylor in the year 1990. Playing the character of Taylor Hayes from 1990 to 2002, Hunter Tylo showed a character full of drama and turmoil in emotional turns in The Bold and the Beautiful.
The early years of Taylor were characterized by the love triangle she shared with Ridge Forrester and Brooke Logan, right alongside the rivalry that followed with Ridge's overprotective mother Stephanie. Introduced as the oncologist for Caroline Spencer, Taylor began a romance with Ridge following Caroline's death, firing up a bitter rivalry with Brooke.
Not withstanding the obstacles, including those interposed by Taylor's ex-husband Blake Hayes, Taylor and Ridge married in 1992, and she became a Forrester. Taylor's life took several twists-right from being embroiled in the paternity saga of Brooke's daughter, Bridget, to a secret affair with James Warwick while in a near-death experience.
Believed to have died in a plane crash in 1994, it was eventually revealed she had merely suffered amnesia and lived in Morocco under the care of Prince Omar. Hunter Tylo exited the show for many years before making a surprise return as Taylor in 2018. She was there during the most dramatic incidents, like Liam and Hope's marriage and the devastating death of Caroline.
The peak of her performance in the series would be when she let Ridge know that Deacon had spent the night with Brooke while Ridge was out, which opened another chapter of the fierce Brooke-Ridge-Taylor saga. Taylor was going through more emotional turmoil in the storyline when Sheila shot her daughter Steffy and her son-in-law Finn.
This return arc also brought the reconciliation of Ridge with Brooke, leaving Taylor heartbroken again. Tylo's portrayal during this period showed how deeply emotionally Taylor was, strong enough to face betrayals and losses.
2) Krista Allen's take on Taylor
Krista Allen took over the role in 2021 on The Bold and The Beautiful, introducing a more modern version of Taylor Hayes.
In this period, Taylor returned to Los Angeles, and her storylines focused on her family, especially her children Steffy and Thomas. Some of the key moments included Taylor's trip to Monaco, where she discovered that Finn was alive, and a romantic kiss with Ridge Forrester, which hinted at a possible reunion.
However, this phase of Taylor’s life was filled with complicated emotions. She found herself caught in the middle of Ridge’s relationship with Brooke and Thomas’s scheme to break them up.
That eventually led to another end of Taylor and Ridge’s relationship, known as "Tridge" to fans. Despite these challenges, Taylor developed a surprising friendship with Brooke, which was cemented through a special pact. However, this friendship eventually crumbled, as Taylor once again found herself vying for Ridge’s affections.
3) Rebecca Buding as Taylor
In Rebecca Budig's portrayal of Taylor Hayes on The Bold and The Beautiful, Taylor returns to Los Angeles after spying on Ridge and Brooke promoting the bedroom line in Monte Carlo. After informing Steffy of her return, Taylor arrives and is quickly pulled into family drama when Steffy confides her concerns about Hope's influence on Finn.
When Taylor learns that Hope had kissed Finn at a Forrester mansion party, she confronts both Brooke and Hope, accusing Hope of following in her mother’s footsteps and shaming Brooke in front of Ridge.
As tensions rise, Steffy leaves town, and Taylor and Ridge grow concerned when they can't reach her for several days.
