With the reveal that Claire Grace was Victoria and Cole's daughter the entire time, her date of birth was firmly placed as November 9, 1998, making her 25 years old. Claire was introduced in The Young and the Restless as someone interviewing for a position at Newman Media. She claimed that she was determined to give her best to the company despite lacking prior corporate experience.

With Audra Charles also being on the interview panel, Claire mentioned her involvement with McCall as well. At the time, Claire claimed her parents passed away in a car crash, and she'd found out about Genoa City from her friend, Sophia Carmichael.

After being accepted for the position, Claire began to hint at ulterior motives with the revelation that she had dossiers on the Newman family. Eventually, it was revealed that Claire had been conspiring with her great-aunt Jordan in an evil plot, and she lured Nikki into Jordan's lakehouse residence and drugged her.

Claire also worked with Jordan in luring Victor Newman, Victoria Newman, Cole Howard, and Nick Newman into Jordan's home and revealed that Cole and Victoria were her parents. She accused the two of abandoning her as an infant, but after they revealed that they thought she was dead, the truth came out.

Jordan had abducted Claire as a baby as part of a revenge scheme against the Newmans because she resented them for how they'd treated her sister, Eve Howard. Learning this, Claire turned on Jordan and freed everyone she'd lured into captivity. The police eventually arrived to take Claire away but couldn't find Jordan.

Michael Baldwin became Claire's lawyer, and she agreed to take a DNA test to confirm her parentage. She was subsequently sentenced to psychiatric treatment instead of prison, thanks to Michael's efforts. However, Claire was eventually kidnapped by Jordan, who'd resurfaced to get her revenge.

Clair woke up in a cabin and saw Jordan fighting with Nikki. Claire eventually got hold of Jordan's gun and pointed it at the vengeful aunt, only for Nikki to knock Jordan out so Claire wouldn't throw her life away. Claire eventually met Jordan in prison and declared she'd never be her pawn again. She subsequently accepted Victoria as her mother.

Claire goes on to become a nanny to Harrison Abbott, the child of Summer Newman and Kyle Abbot. Despite Summer harboring reservations due to Claire's checkered past, Kyle eventually hires her after seeing Claire prove her earnestness in bringing Jordan to justice.
