Days of Our Lives received a new cast member, with Serena Scott Thomas joining the soap opera in its 2024 run. Serena was born in England at Nether Compton, Dorset, on 21 September, 1961, making her 62 years old at the time of writing.
Serena has had an extensive acting career before joining the soap opera as Fiona, the true mother of Xander Kiriakis. She gained prominence in 1993 by playing Princess Diana in the biopic Diana: Her True Story.
She also appeared in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough, the 2014 film Inherent Vicei and 2005's Hostage.

Serena Scott Thomas will be 62 when she joins the cast of Days Of Our Lives. She was born in Nether Compton and is the daughter of Deborah nee Hublatt and Simon Scott Thomas, who was a pilot in the Royal Navy and perished during a flying accident in 1966.
Serena's older sister is Dame Kristen Scott Thomas, who's also an accomplished actor. Serena also has a child named Tallulah Rose with her ex-husband Scott J. Tepper.
She rose to prominence in her acting career in the 1990s, playing Princess Diana in her 1993 biopic. She also starred in television movies like Harnessing Peacocks, an adaptation of Mary Wesley's 1985 novel of the same name.

Serena Scott Thomas was introduced to Days of Our Lives in the role of Fiona Cook, who's revealed to be the true mother of Xander. Her onscreen debut in the soap was on July 22, 2024.
Fiona first appeared during a double wedding, where Xander married Sarah, and Alex married Theresa.
Xander was utterly shocked and taken aback on meeting his long-lost mother, and Fiona revealed that she had conceived Xander out of an affair with Victor Kiriakis while she was married to Titus Kiriakis. Xander, who believed that Titus was his true father, was completely thrown off by the revelation.
Xander did have questions about his missing mother, though, and asked Sarah Horton why he never knew about his biological mother growing up.
With the manner in which Fiona revealed herself as Xander's mother at the double wedding, it remains to be seen if the relationship she has with her son will change for the better..
