Kelly Monaco was born on May 23, 1976, in Philadelphia to Albert Monaco and Carmina Monaco who moved to Poconos as she grew up. The couple has five daughters and Kelly is the middle child. She did her schooling at Pocono Mountain High School where she took her first acting class.

Kelly used to work as a lifeguard at a local resort after her school hours and during this time she met Mike Gonzalez, with whom she was in a relationship for over 18 years until the couple broke up in 2009. They both were together from the junior school and worked together at the resort.

Kelly Monaco got her first big role in the television series Baywatch from 1997 to 1998. She appeared in the drama series as the model flying Kite, the model at the Photoshoot, and Rookie Lifeguard Susan in the episodes The Choice, Quarantine, and Diabolique.

In 2000, Kelly got the role of Livvie Locke in the television series Port Charles, which she played between July 7, 2000 and October 3, 2003.
