The Young and the Restless: More about Judah Mackey's character
Connor Newman was born as Terrence Connor McAvoy. During his birth, his mother was married to Dylan McAvoy. However, soon after being born, Connor's genetic eye disease became evident. While Adam Newman realized that he was Connor's biological father, doctors suggested a cornea transplant for Connor.
When Delia died in a road accident, her corneas were donated to baby Connor, and his eyesight was saved. Chelsea left town with young Connor in 2018. When Connor returned to Genoa City, Judah Mackey took over the role. Judah's Connor was hurt and confused by his parents' friction.
Initially, the child was disturbed by the reappearance of his presumed-dead father. However, he took to his father, Adam Newman, and showed restlessness in his absence. Unable to bear the instability of his broken family, Connor tried to bring his parents together, as shown in The Young and the Restless. When he started having nightmares, he used the excuse to keep his parents close to him.
However, this backfired as Adam's behavior turned difficult and Chelsea suffered an aneurysm and later attempted suicide. Connor's parents tried to move on with their lives. On one hand, Chelsea informed him about Johnny being her son, while on the other, Adam and Sally were going to have a baby.
Self-blame and constant lookout for approval disturbed the boy, and he developed OCD. He blamed himself for his parents' problems and caused physical self-harm. He was put in a private facility for treatment where Chelsea and Adam were forbidden to meet him. Although his condition improved, when his parents met him, he relapsed.
The end of July found Connor learning the coping mechanism and ready to come back home. Back home, whether he can continue to hold on to his mental strength or unravel as he learns the secrets of his parents remains to be seen. Judah has been lauded for his astute acting skills and expressions when portraying an upset and troubled Connor.
