“I absolutely hate this storyline”— Days of Our Lives fans share mixed reactions to Rafe’s twin twist

NBC'S Days of Our Lives which first aired on November 8, 1965, has kept fans engaged with their storyline for decades. The show is set in the fictional city of Salem and revolves mainly around the Bradys, Hortons, DiMera and Kiriakises families.

Recently, one of the major storyline for the show involved Rafe, an important character's, lookalike Arnold, to come to Salem.

The character first appeared on Days of Our Lives in 2011, when Arnold Feniger went through plastic surgery to look like Rafe and imitate him for a DiMera scam. The doppleganger reappeared on the show recently and fans have taken to Facebook to voice their opinions about how they dislike this storyline.

Fans were quick to point out how unrealistic the storyline was on Days of Our Lives, and also about how Jada, an investigator who had been working with Rafe, was unable to tell the difference between the real and unreal Rafe was unconvincing.

One fan called Judy Lane said,

"I absolutely hate this story line. Ugh."

Fans were also pointing out how Jada, being a detective herself, was unable to tell Rafe from the faux Rafe, which seemed extremely improbable.

While some fans appreciated actor Galen Gering's, who plays Rafe on Days of Our Lives, acting skills, most of the fan reactions seemed to be against this storyline.

Rafe and faux Rafe's recent developments on Days of Our Lives

Rafe Hernandez's doppleganger first appeared in 2011 when Arnold Feniger was impersonating him for a DiMera family scheme. Arnold's character on Days of Our Lives was used to cause a rift between Rafe and his wife Sami Brady.

In 2025, Arnold returned as impersonating Rafe and so far has been shown living in the DiMera mansion and plotting ways to disrupt Rafe's personal and professional life.

Jada Hunter, who works closely with Rafe as a detective, was shown questioning fake Rafe's behavior and trying to uncover why he had been acting different. Nicole Walker, who is Rafe's romantic partner, was also shown being manipulated by Arnold.

Arnold's schemes included him trying to exploit her feelings and vulnerabilities, trying to cause misunderstanding between her and Rafe and cause issues in their relationship.

Recent plotlines on Days of Our Lives

Recent storylines on the show revealed Clyde Weston, who had been a notorious criminal, being shot and subsequently being in a comatose state. Julie William's character was shown grappling with the death of her husband Doug Williams and trying to find ways to alleviate her emotional turmoil.

The DiMera family was shown struggling to consolidate the family business of DiMera enterprises and get involved in an intense power struggle. The upcoming episodes of the show will shed further light on these storylines.
