Is Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful Steffy’s real son? Explained

Hayes Finnegan is Steffy Forrester's 3-year-old on The Bold and the Beautiful, who has been intermittently on the show when his mother was in danger recently. He mostly appears along with his onscreen sister, Kelly. Despite initial confusion about his paternity, he was happily welcomed into the world after the confusion was cleared. Steffy gave birth to Hayes at home via water birth. To clarify, yes, Hayes is indeed Steffy's biological son.

The show has recast the child actors playing Hayes many times as the child grew up as per the story arc. Currently, twins Chase and Alexander Banks, who joined the cast in August 2023, play Hayes Finnegan. Following his birth, the role was played by Samantha Worden, then Piper Harriot. The Bold and the Beautiful: A glance at Hayes Finnegan's journey

Hayes Finnegan was introduced on The Bold and the Beautiful in July 2021. Steffy chose a water birth to bring Hayes into the world, with her doctor husband, Finn, played by Tanner Novlan, by her side.

Before Hayes' birth, there was confusion about his paternity as Steffy, who was in a committed relationship with Finn, had a one-night intimacy with her former husband Liam. When the first result of the paternity test showed Liam as the father, Steffy begged Finn not to leave her.

However, it was later revealed that Vinny Walker had falsely claimed Liam as the father. After getting this cleared, Finn and Steffy welcomed their son, naming him Hayes in tribute to Steffy's mother, Taylor Hayes. At their wedding, the duo learned that Sheila Carter was Finn's biological mother. This started a new story arc of Steffy and Sheila's face-off.

While Steffy tried to keep her children away from Sheila, the villain grandmother sneaked into their home to hold her grandson. However, she continued with her manipulations and even got her son, Finn, on her side.

In 2022 on The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy took a stand, forbidding Sheila from coming near her children. In a fit of anger, Sheila shot her daughter-in-law and even her son, who jumped in to save his wife. While the hospital pronounced Finn dead, Steffy survived. Hayes went to Monte Carlo with his mother and sister to grieve his father's death.

Later, it was revealed that Dr. Li had managed to keep Hayes' father alive, and after a lot of drama around being held captive by Sheila and rescued by Li and Bill Spencer, Finn was back home. More problems between his grandmother Sheila and his mother surrounded Hayes, as he was the center of attention for both. However, he seems to have a healthy relationship with his maternal grandmother, Taylor.

Recently, Hayes' grandmother Sheila got married, expanding Hayes' family dynamic. Meanwhile, his father was being wooed by his mother's rival, Hope. Moreover, his mother was held captive by the secret criminal, Luna. However, when Hayes' father rescued Steffy, the tiny tot was finally reunited with his mother.
