John-Paul Lavoisier plays Philip Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives, and he was last seen almost a year ago when he came to his father's funeral, Victor Kiriakis. At the time, he had managed to convince Brady against charging him for faking his own murder and framing the latter.

On Friday, October 25, 2024, the prodigal son will return on the soap as Philip arrives in Salem to save his father's business. His return is timed right as his father's empire, Titan, faces a take-over dilemma.

Days of Our Lives, one of the long-continuing NBC daily soaps, has been airing since 1965. It moved from NBC to the Peacock in 2022 and currently releases episodes on the streaming platform every weekday. The plot presents the intriguing dynamics between various resident families in the fictional city of Salem.

Often, characters move in and out of the show. One such character is Philip Kiriakis, who is part of the powerful Kiriakis family. He left town with his romantic partner, Chloe, leaving his father's company in the hands of his half-brother, Xander.

John-Paul Lavoisier plays Victor Kiriakis's son Philip Kiriakis on DOOL. He stepped into the role in 2015 after various other actors and child actors played the character since its birth. Lavoisiers's Philip has made intermittent appearances on the soap as per the need of the storyline.

Philip first appeared in December 2015 and remained on the show until December 2016. After reprising the role in Days of Our Lives: The Digital Series in 2019, Lavoisier returned to the daily soap in 2020 under contract. In 2022, he was pushed to a recurring actor status before his exit.

The soap's August to October 2023 storyline saw Lavoisier back briefly when Philip attended his father's funeral. However, after making peace with Brady, Philip left town to settle abroad with Chloe. October 2024 is bringing him back to the plot as his father's company needs a strong contender to fight acquisition by a rival.

As fans know, Kristen has asked Xander for Titan in return for an experimental serum to cure his wife Sarah's partial paralysis. The company's current CEO, Xander Kiriakis, got the company as per Victor's will and is considering the deal. While Sarah Horton and Justin Kiriakis urged him to reject the deal, Xander may crumble under pressure.

The company needs a strong hand in the current situation, and Philip Kiriakis, Victor's estranged son, seems to be the solution. Lavoisier told Soaps.com in an exclusive dated October 22, 2024, that Philip needed to protect his father's empire, Titan. In the actor's words:

"Philip may not have cared for the company during his exit, but he does care about it being ruined by the wrong people - that would be Xander...He needs to step up for the honor of Victor."

Whether Philip's return to the soap brings back his son, Parker, and Parker's mother, Chloe, remains to be seen.
