Linden Ashby is a guest actor on The Young and the Restless playing Cameron Kirsten. The American actor with a huge body of work portrayed the criminal's character between 2003 and 2004, before returning to play it again in 2023. Killed off in June 2023, Ashby's Cameron returned as a figment of imagination for Sharon Newman, egging her to commit many crimes.

The recent episodes have proven that Sharon is ready to redeem herself and has confessed to crimes she believes she has committed. As such, she refused to harbor the imaginary Cameron in her hallucinations.

As Sharon fought off Cameron's imaginary presence, actor Linden Ashby looks slated to exit The Young and the Restless.

As fans know, The Young and the Restless is one of the longest-running American daily soaps, airing on CBS since March 1973. The soap's storyline follows the relationship dynamics of a few resident families of the fictional Genoa City.

Sharon Collins-Newman, played by actor Sharon Case, is one of the central characters of the plot.

The Young and the Restless: What plot cue hints at Ashby's exit from the soap?

The last few months saw Linden Ashby's Cameron always around Sharon Newman, as the latter's mental problems escalated due to medicinal mixups. At first, she saw and interacted with Cassie and later Cameron, who were both dead. It was the astral Cameron who urged Sharon to avenge Cassie's death by harming Daniel.

However, under the influence of the ghost, Sharon found herself in questionable situations. Moreover, Sharon proceeded to dump Heather Stevens's corpse and plant all evidence on Daniel, at Cameron's bidding.

While Cameron drew out Sharon's dark side, Sharon's conscience was building up guilt till she finally disclosed all to Nick, Michael, and Chance.

The Young and the Restless episode that aired on Monday, November 25, 2024, saw Sharon at Crimson Lights, cleaning up after Esther left. As she was musing about Esther's opinion about her, the illusory Cameron appeared.

He pointed out that it was better for Sharon to be at Fairview facility than in prison.

While Sharon wondered why the unreal Cameron was there, he insisted that her mind dragged him to her, since she needed him. Sharon emphasized that she didn't need him any longer as she had grown stronger. With that, she closed her eyes. When she opened them, Cameron was nowhere in sight.

At this point, it is safe to assume that Cameron has left never to return as Sharon is utilizing mental strength to fight off her bipolar disorder. With Cameron no longer part of the storyline, actor Linden Ashby is possibly bidding the soap goodbye.
