Tristan Rogers first appeared on General Hospital in December 1980, playing the role of Robert Scorpio, as a secret agent. He was introduced parallel to the popular storyline about the couple Luke and Laura, whose wedding in 1981 holds the record for the most-watched episode in American soap opera history.
Scorpio's connection with the super couple increased his popularity on the show, making him a well-liked character whose fame continues to this day. After exiting the show in 1992, his character was thought to be dead. However, in 1995, he appeared in a spirit form to console his daughter, Robin Scorpio who was mourning the loss of her boyfriend to AIDS and was herself tested HIV positive.
His significant return in 2006 showed that Scorpio was alive, however, the return was limited to just six weeks after which he exited in November 2006, adding more drama and surprise to his storyline.
In 2008, Rogers reappeared on General Hospital on December 22, 2008, for four episodes to attend his daughter’s wedding. He also received the recognition of Best Return of 2008 by Soap Opera Digest.
