General Hospital fans have followed closely the emotion-arresting storyline with Dr. Hamilton Finn, Michael Easton, as he came to terms with his addiction in light of his father's death - Gregory Chase.
The latest installments have documented how Finn succumbs to alcoholism, leading up to that nightmarish moment when he is discovered unconscious by his daughter Violet Finn, played by Jophielle Love. This was all the trigger for the dramatic happenings that include Finn packing up and leaving Port Charles to head off to rehab, so fans are left with the question of what about Violet?
As Michael Easton wrapped up his final day at General Hospital, rumors have been circulating about whether this decision also marked the end for young Violet. With Finn temporarily being pushed aside, viewers are left pondering whether Violet will keep living in Port Charles or if her time there is also coming to an end.
However, there is sad news for General Hospital fans because Michael Easton’s (Finn) exit has also caused Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) to seemingly leave the show.
Will Violet stay in Port Charles while Finn is in rehab on General Hospital?
With Finn off to rehab, Violet spends a bit of time at the Quartermaine mansion under the wing of Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). For now, at least, she is out of harm's way in a safe place with people who truly care for her; however, there is still a question about whether she will stay in Port Charles long-term. There is enough evidence at present for now that the bonds are enough for Violet when Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) files for temporary custody.
Although General Hospital puts unexpected twists into their plot well in advance of making absolutely sure that Violet's life has truly changed forever, it would be acceptable to do so with someone who cannot be relied upon to make the right decisions.
It would be a dreadful ending for Finn and even another storyline needs to keep Violet from Finn as she has loved ones. Violet could get her happy ending and leave the town with Finn upon completing rehab, starting anew with father and daughter reunited.
Could Finn’s fate impact Violet’s exit on General Hospital?
One of the biggest questions the show will always receive is Finn's recovery from his stint in rehab. Given his past addiction troubles, it is unclear if the writers will offer Finn redemption or take things in a more heightened way. If tragedy strikes when Finn dies after rehab due to an accident, Violet would be left fatherless, which can keep her anchored in Port Charles.
Alternatively, if Finn can rehabilitate successfully and make a comeback to Port Charles, this offers the writers another opportunity to send him off from the canvas by way of him joining Doctors Without Borders. Finn and Violet could be reunited offscreen so that they can be away on a foreign adventure. It wouldn't appeal to the Violet apologists but would go down very well for those who want to see that Finn is well.
Will Violet Finn leave General Hospital for good?
Officially, no statement has been made by the soap so far confirming the exit of Jophielle Love from the soap. The uncertainty surrounding the departure of Michael Easton makes one wonder about the long-term prospects of his on-screen daughter Violet.
If Violet's whole storyline is riding on the fortunes of Finn, she may leave General Hospital soon. In case the writers decide otherwise and let Violet stay in Port Charles, there is little chance that viewers will not be able to see the eventual growth of Violet with her extended family.
Ultimately, whether Violet stays or goes will depend on how the show decides to tie up Finn's story. If Finn departs for good, either with a tragic ending or a new adventure, then Violet's fate will fall in line. Meanwhile, fans will have to wait to see how the show resolves this heartfelt storyline and what's in store for young Violet Finn.
