Despite trying to plead Hope's case with the management, he couldn't make them rehire his ladylove. This rigidity irked Carter and Hope, and the legal expert decided to teach the family a lesson by taking over the company. With that, he could give Hope her job back.
Carter is well-versed in law and knows the legal ways of doing things, including a coup. He signed his name as the manager of the company in the newly drawn LLC papers. While CEO Steffy signed the document without looking at it, co-CEO Ridge Forrester spotted Carter's name on the papers. However, he blindly trusted his legal and financial head.

Which likely direction would Forrester Creations take in the future?
Many fans have pointed out that Eric Forrester owns the company, not Carter. While Carter may have the right to run the company as a manager, Eric will make final decisions. Eric may choose to contest Carter's position and remove him from the post. Alternatively, Carter may run the company efficiently, and Eric may find that refreshing.
However, Forrester Creations is a family-owned company, and Eric may eventually want his family to own it. As such, even if Carter runs the company well, Eric may want him to step down.
