Kelly Thiebaud’s attempt to reprise General Hospital’s Britt role revealed on Instagram

General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera by ABC, first aired in 1963. Since its beginning, the show has bid goodbye to many characters. One of those is the character of Britt Westbourne, played by Kelly Thiebaud on General Hospital.

Britt Westbourne was a recurring character on the show and first joined on September 19, 2012. Since then Kelly Thiebaud has been playing her character. She played Britt between 2012 and 2015 - 2018, and 2020 - 2023.

Her last episode on General Hospital aired on January 4, 2023, when she was shown dead. Kelly won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2022 for her role as Britt.

In a recent Instagram post by Kelly Thiebaud, where she said goodbye to Los Angeles in the caption. A fan with the username, @tperky63 commented that she thought that Kelly would now return to the General Hospital. To this comment, Kelly’s reply highlighted her attempt to get back to GH.

Who was Britt Westbourne in General Hospital?

Britt Westbourne is a fictional recurring character played by Kelly Thiebaud on General Hospital. Britt’s storyline on the show started with being a supporting character till it was discovered that she was the daughter of the villain characters Cesar Faison and Liesl Obrecht.

Her role in the soap opera was of an antagonist because of which the term “Britch” is much used by the fans on social media, and also in the show’s script. Britch is a combination of Britt and B***h. Her portrayal between 2012 and 2015 went through several plotlines with the theme of betrayal and lies.

Earlier in GH, Britt had a crush on Patrick. They both were doctors at the hospital and another doctor Sabrina also had a crush on him. Britt knew that Sabrina liked Patrick but she never considered her to be a threat. But slowly as she got to know about the closeness between Patrick and Sabrina, her insecurities increased to the extent that she faked being pregnant with Patrick’s child.

She manipulated Patrick, Sabrina, and Patrick’s daughter Emma, to go against each other so that she gets what she wanted. Slowly but steadily all the characters got to know the true side of Britt, after which they all disconnected with her.

It was later revealed that Ben who was said to be Britt and Patrick’s son was actually Dante and Lulu Falconeri’s son. Britt stole the embryo from the hospital with the help of her mother. Though Britt’s journey on the GH started with being a villain but eventually turned to be soft and kind-hearted.

When she recurred in General Hospital after she lost her love Nicholas and son Ben, she had turned into a completely different person. She was looking for redemption and even asked Patrick and Sabrina to forgive her.

Britt helped in delivering Sabrina and Patrick’s pre-mature baby on the roadside which showed that she has changed and now cares about others.

In the last scenes in GH in January 2023, Britt was diagnosed with Huntington's disease after which she decided to leave Port Charles. But before she could leave, Britt was killed by a serial killer 'The Hook,' when she tried to save Josslyn Jacks from him. She got scratched by The Hook, and venom over his body entered Britt’s body, which led to her death.
