Days of Our Lives alum Shawn Christian and Arianne Zucker turn reel romance real as they get married

Former Days of Our Lives actors Shawn Christian and Arianne Zucker tied the knot on August 17, 2024. The couple shared pictures from their wedding dance on August 23 via Instagram, officially announcing their status as husband and wife.

The couple got married at Jacobs Berry Fram in Gardenville, Nevada. They were engaged since 2021 and reportedly dated for several years before that. Both Christian and Zucker have been married once previously.

On Days of Our Lives, Christian played the character of Daniel Jonas from 2008 to 2017. Zucker played Nicole Walker on the show and only recently made her exit in 2024. Apart from the soap, the couple have also co-starred on Summerland, which aired for two seasons on the WB Network.

Shawn Christian played Dr Daniel Jonas on Days of Our Lives. The character's backstory took place when he married a cancer patient and hoped to save her, but she ultimately died in his arms. After that incident, Daniel had a passion for saving lives and was taken on as a doctor at Salem Hospital.

He treated many patients, including Chloe, Jennifer, and Nicole, among others. He even ended up having feelings for many of them and switching relationships frequently.

However, during the end of his stint, the character was involved in a car accident and declared brain dead. Daniel was initially put on life support at the hospital but passed away later.

Shawn Christian was still featured on the soap for a while after that, appearing in flashbacks and visions as a ghost. In 2016, it was also revealed that Chloe acted as a surrogate for Daniel and Nicole's child. Later, she gave birth to a girl whom Nicole named Holly Jonas.

Meanwhile, Arianne Zucker played the role of Nicole Walker on the soap. Her character's storyline recently came to a close after she moved out of town. Nicole had been going through many struggles after it was revealed that her husband EJ was not the father of her baby. Instead, her former love interest Eric was the father.

Nicole sought a separation from EJ after this, as he blackmailed her and threatened to make her life difficult. Despite this, Nicole and Eric managed to get together. They decided to move away to France to raise their son together. This bittersweet farewell into the sunset was Zucker's last storyline on Days of Our Lives.

Interestingly, the two characters also shared a brief romantic relationship on the show. Initially, they were casually intimate until Daniel started developing feelings for Nicole. However, Nicole started to suspect that Daniel had feelings for his former love interest Jennifer.

Later, their tryst ended after Nicole's pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage, which she tried to blame on Jennifer in an attempt to get Daniel back.
