“I’m so over Willow”— General Hospital fans express frustration with Willow’s perceived insincerity about Michael’s critical condition

Willow Corinthos of General Hospital has revealed a new side of her personality recently. Previously characterized as docile, Willow has shown a more deceitful and manipulative side since 2024.

It started with her unexpected romance with Drew Caine that blew over into a scandalous reveal due to Tracy's mistake. However, Willow continued to be dependent on Drew's overpowering personality.

Meanwhile, GH, which is one of the longest-running daily soaps on ABC, often comes out with unexpected plot twists. Willow's story arc which started in 2018 has seen a sudden change as she jeopardized her marriage with Michael to have an affair with Drew.

Moreover, she bargained her position as Michael's healthcare proxy to force Carly and Sonny to send her children to her mother's house. The soap's fans have taken to social media to express their thoughts on Willow's current character change. One Facebook user named Stephanie Raines commented:

General Hospital: Which story arc invited fan wrath against Willow?

Willow Tait-Corinthos, played by Katelyn MacMullen, has been having an extra-marital affair with uncle-in-law, Drew Caine. Although Willow confessed to her mother, Nina, about kissing him, their affair continued. After Drew's former romantic partner, Sam McCall died, Drew and Willow got intimate in the children's nursery.

Unfortunately, Michael got the video of their intimacy on his phone through the nannycam recording. Initially, he wanted to keep this under wraps but after Tracy inadvertently revealed it in front of others, Michael filed for divorce and child custody.

However, Michael fell victim to a fire in Sonny's penthouse and sustained 40 percent burns. His mother, Carly Corinthos, and his attorney, Diane Miller, moved courts to get Michael's children to the Quartermaine mansion, away from their mother.

When a sobbing Willow pleaded with Drew to get her children back, he advised her to leverage her position as Michael's healthcare proxy to bargain her children against Carly's visitations with Michael. After striking the bargain, Willow went to the Q mansion where she was confronted by Sasha. The latter was surprised to find Willow bargaining Michael's well-being for her own needs.

Where is the story arc likely to take Willow in the upcoming future?

So far, Willow has done things that were suggested by Drew including leveraging her marital status to influence Michael's treatment. While she is hellbent on getting her children and moving in with Drew, she may pose problems with Michael's recovery. As Carly noted, Willow may interrupt Michael's shift to another clinic for scar removal.

Moreover, under Drew's influence, Willow is turning into an antagonist character, as her mother, Nina Reeves lamented. Whether she manages to be the right partner for Congressman Drew Caine or become disloyal to him in the future remains to be seen.
