Drew Caine and Willow Corinthos are having a full-blown affair on General Hospital that has indirectly affected many others in Port Charles. This includes Willow's husband, Michael; her children; and her mother, Nina. Nina was also involved with Drew in the past and has not told Willow about it yet.
As one of the longest-running daily soaps, GH premiered in April 1963. It often presents disturbing story arcs, as is the case with the current plot involving Michael's burns and the Willow-Drew romance. However, the soap's fans have not taken kindly to this affair, taking to social media platforms to express their dislikes.
One viewer, going by the name Lynette Pullin, commented:
"Talk about robbing the cradle so gross."
Lynette was replying on the soap's Facebook fan page to another viewer, Gina Lloyd KnixtixMemes, who addressed the soap's executive producer, Frank Valentini, by calling the story arc gross and icky. Gina also referred to the age difference between the two actors.
Many other netizens agreed with the original post, finding the age gap disturbing.
However, some others have emphasized that more than age, Drew's dynamics with Willow is upsetting.
A few viewers have also expressed regret about Drew's character change.
General Hospital: Why are fans unhappy with Drew and Willow?
Drew Caine, played by Cameron Mathison, had numerous affairs in the past. He has two children from his marriages with Kim Nero and Sam McCall. He was also involved with Carly Spencer-Corinthos and Nina Reeves. He continued to get intimate with Nina in secret despite getting drawn to Nina's daughter Willow.
July 2024 saw Willow and Drew exchanging a kiss, which left Willow repentant. She rushed to her mother, Nina Reeves, and confessed about it. However, they repeated this as Drew seemed to follow Willow around. After Sam McCall's death, instead of grieving, Drew was seen getting intimate with Willow.
Unfortunately for them, their intimacy was recorded on the nanny cam, and Michael Corinthos came to know about it. While he kept quiet about it, Tracy Quartermaine inadvertently let the video out on the family television screen in front of all who had assembled for a Christmas party.

This forced Michael to file for a divorce, and he also pushed for sole custody of the children. However, Michael fell victim to a fire in Sonny's penthouse caused by a malevolent bomb planted to take Sonny out. Sonny and Jason doused the fire that engulfed Michael and took him to the hospital.
On the other hand, Willow followed the newly-elected Congressman, Drew Caine, to DC to continue with her affair. Moreover, she took little Wiley across states when she went to meet her boyfriend.
Since Michael's burn injuries incapacitated him to follow up on his divorce and custody cases, his mother, Carly, and his attorney, Diane Miller, moved the courts to bring his children back to the Quartermaine mansion, away from Willow and Nina. They cited Willow's decision to take Wiley out of state to meet her lover as the point to prove her an unstable parent.
What is Drew's upcoming story arc likely to be?
Drew recently blamed Carly for Michael's predicament, accusing her decision to have Michael adopted by mob boss Sonny Corinthos to be the cause of Michael's burns. On the other hand, when Willow pleaded for Drew's help in getting her children back, he advised her to use her power as Michael's healthcare proxy to bargain her position.
Based on his advice, Willow and Nina came to an agreement with Sonny and Carly that Willow would allow Michael's parents to be with him if they let Willow take back her children with her. As such, Willow's attorney, Martin Grey, was sent to the Q mansion. However, Tracy refused to accept this arrangement and insisted on keeping the children in the mansion.
Whether Sonny will force Tracy to give in to the arrangement or Drew will manipulate Willow into more evil remains to be seen. Stay tuned to General Hospital to catch more drama in the upcoming episodes.
