General Hospital (GH) is a prominent American soap opera that premiered on April 1, 1963, on ABC. It is America's longest-running soap opera and has received the most Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series. Frank and Doris Hursley devised the show, which was first set at an unknown hospital before moving to the fictional city of Port Charles, New York.
