CBS' The Young and The Restless has kept fans engaged with its storyline since 1973 when the show first aired on American television. The show is set in Genoa City, Wisconsin, and centers around the Newmans, Abbotts, Winters, and Chancellors. Recently, two major characters, Jordan and Ian, were shown kissing each other on the show. The episode, aired on December 22, 2024, showed Jordan, who has been with Ian since November, kissing him.

Fans of The Young and The Restless disapproved of this particular scene. Some fans took to Facebook to debate and discuss the reasons behind Jordan kissing Ian. One fan, Michelle Browning, said,

Fans watching the characters of Jordan and Ian evolve in The Young and The Restless expressed disgust and disdain over the recent developments.

They are aware of the manipulative natures of both Jordan and Ian and how their partnership is rooted in vengeance and revenge. This caused fans to especially find their trope repetitive and boring, prompting them to voice their opinions about the storyline on Facebook.

Jordan Howard's character on The Young and The Restless has sought revenge against the Newman family for the longest time. Her motivation stems from her belief that Victor Newman had harmed her sister. This grudge has been the driving force behind most of her actions.

Ian Ward, who also vented against Victor Newman and Sharon Newman, partnered with Jordan to further their mutual interest in exacting revenge. In November 2024, the pair resurfaced in Genoa City, causing a significant uproar.

Their collaborative efforts have numerous times undermined the Newman family, and recently, spoilers suggest that it could also end up in the potential imprisonment of Sharon.

Since The Young and The Restless brought back these characters, there has been consequential backlash from fans regarding this decision. Fans disapproved of how Jordan and Ian's revenge mindset caused feuds between the residents of Genoa City.
