What happened to Officer Dex Heller on General Hospital?
In a shocking turn of events on General Hospital in December 2024, Officer Dex Heller died from cardiac arrest in the hospital. He was one of the cops working on Sam McCall's case when he was attacked and stabbed by an unseen figure. He died before he could be attended to at the hospital.
Sam McCall had slipped into a coma and breathed her last after an organ donation surgery for Lulu Spencer. However, this lapse occurred much after the operation had been successfully conducted and Sam had been discharged. The cause of her death was later uncovered to be Digitalis, a drug she had never been prescribed.
Dex was involved in investigating the suspicious circumstances around Sam's death. It seemed he was close to discovering some key evidence regarding the Digitalis dose. However, he was attacked and stabbed before he could probe deeper. He died surrounded by his friend, Anna Devane, and his girlfriend, Josslyn.
At the hospital, Josslyn was devastated as she said her final goodbye to Dex. Seeing her grief, Anna even called Jason in the hope that he could comfort her during the mourning process. In her final moments with Dex, Josslyn tearfully professed her love for him and thanked him for always being there by her side.
Later, Josslyn spoke to Jason and opened up about Dex and even the deep grief she still felt from losing Oscar. However, in the episode on December 26, Josslyn was seen sharing a moment of bonding with Brennan, which many fans felt was too soon in her storyline.
