"She's not arrogant"—General Hospital fans defend Diane and her headstrong personality

Attorney Diane Miller has been presenting quick thinking and fast action on General Hospital's current plot dynamics. While Michael Corinthos was left with severe burns after being in the explosion at Sonny's penthouse, his cheating wife, Willow, was in DC spending intimate moments with Drew. As such, Diane stepped up in support of Michael by getting his children away from Willow.

Diane has been playing a hard-hitting legal expert since 2007 when Sonny Corinthos brought her into town as per the storyline of ABC's long-running daily soap. Meanwhile, fans know the General Hospital plot pivots around the titular medical facility of the fictional town of Port Charles.

General Hospital: What is the latest plot concerning Diane?

Diane Miller, played by Carolyn Hennesey, started her career by keeping Sonny Corinthos out of prison using her killer legal strategies. However, she soon represented other residents of Port Charles. Her in-court adversary, Alexis Davis, became her best friend after their chance journey together.

Currently, Diane represents anyone who Alexis is not representing. Recently, she was seen taking a strong step in representing Michael Corinthos in his divorce and custody battle with wife Willow.

However, Michael became a victim of a fire accident where he was 40 percent burned by an explosion aimed at Sonny Corinthos. Since Michael would be incapacitated to fight for the custody of his children, Diane figured she, as his lawyer, must make the move.

However, with Michael badly injured, Diane needed someone close to him to agree to the process. As such, she approached Michael's mother, Carly Spencer-Corinthos, to present her with the idea of taking the children away from Willow, and back to Michael's home.

Diane explained that they would need the court's orders to do the same. While Carly was skeptical about the move, Diane clarified that she would present Willow as an unstable mother to take the children away. To prove her point, Diane illustrated how Willow had taken little Wiley out of state to DC when she followed her boyfriend, Drew Caine.

Based on this argument, the court passed orders for Michael and Willow's children to be brought back home away from Willow's custody. As such, Diane and Harrison Chase visited Nina Reeves' home to execute the court orders.

What would be the repercussions of Diane's move?

Friday, January 10, 2025, saw Willow broken by Diane's move and seeking Drew's help. When Nina and Drew informed her that court orders to challenge Diane's move would need a few days, she pleaded with Drew to do something so that she would not stay away from her children.

As such, Drew offered her the vile suggestion of bargaining with Sonny and Carly into giving in to her wishes. As leverage, Drew asked Willow to use her position as Michael's healthcare proxy to bargain her way.

While initially Willow was reluctant to take this route, she was later seen declaring to Portia, Isaiah, Sonny, and Carly, that as Michael's wife, she would be making the final decisions on Michael's treatments.

This may force Carly and Sonny to give in reluctantly. However, since Cyrus Renault has already administered Digitalis into Michael's IV bag, the latter would be dead soon. As such, Willow will be left with sole custody of the children. Alternatively, Carly may give Willow a tough fight over Michael's children and may employ Diane Miller's legal prowess in the matter.
