The current plot dynamics of General Hospital find Lulu Spencer awake after a four-year coma and she is busy reconnecting with her children. She reached out to Nina, and Jason to get her daughter Charlotte, who left town with Valentin Cassadine.
Recently, commissioner Anna Devane had Jason bring in lawyer Martin Grey, to question him about Valentin's locations. While Martin gave up his phone to help track Valentin, Anna had him in custody till the work was done.
General Hospital fans already know, that Anna Devane has been part of the law enforcement departments but was involved in questionable actions in the past in ABC's longest-running daily soap. The soap which revolves around the titular hospital and residents of the fictional Port Charles township, often finds PCPD and mobsters collaborating.

Fans were unhappy with the way Anna conducted her inquiry into Valentin's location by arm-twisting Martin. One viewer identifying as Amelia Affisco commented:
"This is all Anna's fault. She's really a hypocrite."
Amelia was responding to the General Hospital fan page on Facebook, to the promo video of the soap's episode. Many other fans voiced similar sentiments demanding Anna's punishment.
While some fans pointed out her resorting to the same tactics that she hated in Sonny, others questioned her mental sanity.
Some fans believe Martin did not deserve this treatment.
General Hospital: Why are fans upset with Anna's actions?
GH fans may remember, that Anna Devane was romantically involved with Valentin Cassadine. She had also shot Valentin and Lulu's daughter, Charlotte when the teenager was snooping in Anna's suite.
However, when WSB was bent on arresting Valentin, cop Anna had the information beforehand, which she leaked to Valentin. At the time, Anna Devane had helped her romantic partner, Valentin, skip town and escape arrest. Valentin left with his daughter, since Charlotte's mother, Lulu Spencer, was in a coma.
Now, with Lulu out of her coma and demanding to be reunited with her daughter, Anna must trace Valentin and get Charlotte back in town. However, her method was very thuggish as Wednesday's episode, which aired on December 11, 2024, showed.
She sent Jason Morgan to get Martin Grey from the park to Jason's coffee warehouse office. Anna showed up to coerce Martin to cough up information on Valentin. While Martin emphasized that Charlotte was his grandniece and he wanted her home, Anna threatened to go all the way to find her.
Not believing that Martin may be unaware of Valentin's current status, Anna asked Jason to "jog his memory." Martin handed them his phone which had information on Valentin's bank accounts, besides his number. However, Martin pointed out Anna's over-the-top methods of working such as having him kidnapped, and working with a killer.

Is Anna's move likely to pay off?
As of Wednesday's episode, Martin's phone revealed a hint about Valentin's latest location. After taking Martin's phone, Jason Morgan gave it to Spinelli to look for any information connected to Valentin. Spinelli was successful after he found that Valentin's account showed a withdrawal in Zurich.
While Martin plied Anna with her past mistake of shooting Charlotte, the commissioner declared that she owed it to Charlotte to be reunited with her mother. Since Anna is ready to go all out to trace Charlotte, she might use the Zurich connection that Spinelli discovered.
