Carter Walton, played by Lawrence Saint-Victor on The Bold and the Beautiful, recently attempted a coup at Forrester Creations. After repeated unsuccessful attempts to convince the management to accept his expansion proposal and undo Hope Logan's expulsion, Carter and Hope planned the coup.
While it was not greed but more of a righteous act, the duo started to see themselves running the company. However, their plan ultimately failed due to Brooke's move. As a result, Carter Walton is fired from his position at the Forresters and may lose credibility in the market.
For a quick recap, The Bold and the Beautiful is one of the long-running American daily soaps on CBS. The storyline revolves around the Forrester family's haute couture business. The plot extends to include their associates, the Logan family, their rivals, the Spencer family, and the company's staff. Carter Walton served as the COO of Forrester Creations.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Carter's career is seemingly ruined
As recent episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful have shown, Ridge Forrester asked Carter to reconsider the takeover plan. He offered Carter a chance to continue if he broke up with his newfound lover, Hope Logan. Ridge appeared to view Hope as the root cause of the situation since he trusted Carter.
However, Carter Walton has backstabbed his longtime friend and employer. On top of that, he refused to break off his association with Hope. After a long argument, Carter questioned what Ridge would do if he maintained his stand. In response, Ridge fired Carter effective immediately, claiming he had moved on from the friend and confidante he once knew.
Since, without the LLC papers effective, Ridge Forrester remains one of the CEOs of the company while Carter is now just an employee. As such, Ridge holds the power to fire Carter, which he did. If lawyer Justin can find a way to nullify Carter's LLC documents, the Forresters would retain their hold on the company, leaving Carter without a job.
In this situation, Carter Walton has effectively burned his bridges with the Forresters. His long career at the company appears to be over with no scope of resuming. If Carter's story goes into the press release, he would lose credibility in the market. As such, other companies will be wary of employing him, knowing that he tried a coup on his longtime employers.
The Bold and the Beautiful: What are the other likely alternative story arcs?
Justin may need time to look for loopholes and extricate the company from the coup mess before handing it back to the Forresters. If, in the meantime, the LLC documents come into effect, Carter and Hope will become the official holders of the company.
With that, Carter may lead the company for a brief time and implement some business objectives close to his heart. Hope Logan may continue her fashion line and make further decisions as per her plans. Whether her mother, Brooke, will support her or side with Ridge remains to be seen.
This situation will negatively affect the Forresters, particularly Steffy, as she would find herself powerless in front of her rival. However, she may find comfort in her mother, and Taylor Hayes will have the opportunity to get close to Ridge and Steffy.
If the LLC gets overturned and Carter and Hope find themselves out of jobs, they would have very few options available to them in The Bold and the Beautiful plot. They would either need to start their own company to rival Forrester Creations or seek help from FC's rival, Bill Spencer Jr.
While Bill may be happy to see turmoil within FC, he might be reluctant to extend help to the two detractors since that would jeopardize his son Will Spencer's internship at FC.
Stay tuned to CBS to find out how the Carter-Ridge drama unfolds in the upcoming episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful.
