Ivy Forrester, Eric Forrester's niece, is back in The Bold and the Beautiful storyline in October 2024. She is the daughter of John Forrester, Eric's brother. With Ivy returning to join Forrester Creations, viewers can expect references to her father, John. Moreover, Ivy recently revealed she has a brother, also named John, who is presumably Electra's father. However, John Jr. has not appeared in the soap yet.

To reiterate for new viewers, The Bold and the Beautiful is a long-running American daily soap on CBS. The soap premiered in March 1987 and presents the dynamics between the Forrester, Logan, and Spencer families. The plot primarily revolves around the Forrester family's fashion business, Forrester Creations.

Some characters appear temporarily on the soap or have a recurring appearance. John Forrester was one such character, who was seen between 2014 and 2015 in a recurring role for eight episodes. However, with the death of Fred Willard, the actor who played John Forrester, in 2020, John's character was declared to have died.

The Bold and the Beautiful: John Forrester's journey on the soap

Eric's brother John Forrester, played by actor Fred Willard, was first seen on The Bold and the Beautiful on October 2, 2014, visiting his daughter Ivy and brother Eric. Ivy had already joined Forrester Creations as a jewelry designer. Further, Eric enquired about John's wife and Ivy's mother, Claire Forrester, and invited his brother for a family dinner.

At the dinner, John met a grown-up Aly Forrester, along with Liam Spencer. Learning that Ivy was romantically involved with Liam, John sized up the young man and gave his approval. He also met and flirted with Pam Douglas, an action that Charlie Webber criticized.

He then re-visited in November 2014, to go on a pre-planned fishing trip with Eric. After catching up with his daughter, Ivy Forrester, and her relationship with Liam, John pulled Eric out of a business meeting to take him fishing, as the latter left business work to Rick Forrester to join his brother.

John was again seen in LA for Christmas 2014. After learning that Pam Douglas was sad after her dog died, John arranged a dog show to cheer her up. While Pam was thrilled but couldn't decide whether to adopt another dog, John insisted she kiss him under a mistletoe in return.

Although he did not attend Ivy and Liam's marriage, John last visited them in June 2015, after their marriage. However, he was upset to know that Liam was likely to go back to Steffy Forrester. While John assured Ivy that Liam was smart enough not to let her go, he believed Ivy was strong enough to overcome any setback.

Is there another John Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful?

Fred Willard, the actor who portrayed John, passed away in 2020. Further, on the soap, when Ivy Forrester returned to LA in 2024, she revealed her father's death. However, she also announced having a brother named John Jr. Ivy's niece, Electra, played by Laneya Grace, is presumed to be John Jr.'s daughter.

While not much is known about this newly communicated character, John Jr. might be John Forrester's son. Since Electra accompanied her aunt to LA and joined Forrester Creations as an intern, she is likely to stay in town for some time. Whether her father will arrive in LA to join her is yet unknown.
