Born in 1968, Bell is 55 years old. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, to soap opera creators William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. Due to her family's presence in the soap opera industry, she was offered her role as Christine in 1983, which she continues to essay to date.

Lauralee Bell has been playing the role of Christine 'Cricket' Blair on The Young and the Restless since the character's introduction in 1983.
The character was originally a teen model in the story but went on to train as a lawyer. She even helped her later on-screen husband Danny win custody of his son Daniel from Phyllis Summers.
Even though her marriage with Danny collapsed after his affair with Phyllis, Christine had lingering feelings for him later on. The two even had an affair together, unknown to her new partner Paul Williams.
Meanwhile, she worked dedicatedly on her professional career arc. Christine was forced to toughen up after facing harassment and discrimination at her law firms but went on to build a name for herself.
