The murder of Heather Stevens on The Young and the Restless remains a mystery. Heather was found dead in September 2024 while having an altercation with Sharon Newman. While Sharon does not remember killing Heather due to a blackout, she covered her tracks, dumped the body and removed all evidence from the crime scene.
The Young and the Restless is a CBS daily soap that has aired since March 1973 and presented cliffhangers and plot twists for decades. The soap's storyline revolves around rival business families including the Newmans, the Abbotts, the Baldwin-Fishers, the Winters, the Chancellors and more.
Heather, who was paired with Daniel Romalotti, was found dead in the presence of Sharon Newman, the former wife of Nick Newman of the Newman family.
While Nick is busy looking after Sharon's mental and physical health, Daniel, Phyllis and Christine are seeking answers for Heather's death by employing their own methods.

The Young and the Restless: Heather's murder investigation takes different directions
Heather's murder remains a mystery even when the audience saw what happened that night. On one hand, Sharon Collins-Newman feels responsible for the death and is trying to frame Daniel and save herself.
On the other hand, Phyllis Summers, who was not present at the spot, feels certain about Sharon's hand in the killing.
The audience may have second thoughts since they know Sharon had a blackout, and Heather was alive before that and dead after. As such, the current investigation is taking different directions.
On one side are the police, who will act upon blatant facts, such as Chance arresting Daniel based on the evidence planted by Sharon. On the other are Christine, Phyllis, and Daniel's individual lines of thought.
Phyllis, who has a long-running rivalry with Sharon, believes Sharon is the murderer. However, her approach to revealing the criminal looks inept. Phyllis chose to corner Sharon and yell at her.
She wants to confuse Sharon, who is suffering from bipolar disorder so that the latter confesses her crime. Going by how shrewdly Sharon covered her tracks, Phyllis's method is not likely to succeed.
Christine, played by Lauralee Bell, has plans to unravel the mystery but she is keeping things a secret. While this irks Phyllis who believes Christine will derail Daniel's case to get at her, Christine loves Daniel and his father, Danny Romalotti.
As such, she believes in Daniel's innocence and intends to do her best to save him.
Daniel is also making plans to uncover the real murderer. Of all the people involved in the case, he may be the only one convinced of his innocence. However, unlike Phyllis and Christine, Daniel is not trying to save himself.
His goal is to find Heather's killer for Lucy and Heather's sake. The Young and the Restless episode dated November 1, 2024, found Daniel determined to take control of the situation and hatch his detection plan.
Who are Heather's possible killers on The Young and the Restless?
As mentioned before, The Young and the Restless audience doubts whether Sharon killed Heather due to the former's blackout. While there is a possibility that Sharon killed Heather in a semiconscious state and does not remember, there could be others who entered and exited the apartment when Sharon was not conscious.
As with most cases, the partner or the spouse happens to be the first suspect. However, with Daniel declaring to Summer about being the detective and seeking out the killer, he does not look like the murderer.
Rumors are abuzz about Daisy Carter, Lucy's biological mother, killing off Heather out of jealousy. There are some random possibilities such as Daisy's mother, Sheila Carter or Heather's former boyfriend from Portugal.
However, there are no definite spoilers to point at any of these possibilities. That leaves Sharon and Daniel is the suspects' list.
Stay tuned to CBS on weekdays to catch the upcoming The Young and the Restless episodes to find out how the murder investigation reveals Heather's real murderer.
