Disclaimer: This article contains spoilers for The Young and the Restless.
Spoilers for the upcoming week indicate that Daniel is set to double down on his quest for justice for Heather. He wants her killer apprehended and punished as quickly as possible, not just for him, but for his daughter Lucy too.
His mother Phyllis Summers agrees and is ready to sharpen her claws even further against her arch-nemesis Sharon, who has confessed her alleged guilt.
Phyllis shall be represented by one of her former rivals Christine in court. Christine had initially been hired by Daniel when he was arrested on suspicion of the murder. On the other hand, Sharon shall be defended by Michael Baldwin.
However, Michael is one of Phyllis' closest friends, and his being on Sharon's side has been a cause of strife for the two friends.
What happened to Heather on The Young and the Restless?
Heather Stevens, played by actress Vail Bloom, was murdered on The Young and the Restless. She got into a physical altercation with Sharon when the latter broke into the Romalotti house.
During their fight, Sharon blacked out suddenly and only awoke to find Heather lying in a pool of blood with a head wound. When Sharon checked her pulse, she realized that Heather was dead.
Panicked and thinking that she had committed the crime, Sharon cleaned the scene, stashed the incriminating towels in one of Daniel's cabinets and disposed of Heather's body in the nearby river.
Later, when Detective Chance Chancellor came to investigate, the towels were found, leading to Daniel's arrest.
After this, Daniel's mother Phyllis started suspecting that Sharon was the one who killed Heather and pinned the blame on her son. Phyllis cornered Sharon into revealing her secret and received texts from her asking to meet.
Before this meeting could occur, Phyllis' car was involved in a car crash, leaving her hospitalized. Even though Phyllis later remembered that the vehicle that had crashed into her was a truck, it shed no light on the true culprit.
After this, Sharon assumed that she was the one intent on killing people. She confessed everything about her blackouts and her fight with Heather to her ex Nick Newman.
However, Nick remains firm in his belief that Sharon could not have killed Heather and decided to send her medication for a toxicology report. As the court case approaches, the results of the lab report could be a crucial factor in deciding who the culprit is, and how Heather might get justice.
