The Young and the Restless brought back two of its major villains in the latter half of 2024: Ian Ward and Jordan Howard. Following a stint in prison, the two returned to Genoa City and teamed up to wreak havoc on their next victims.

The villains previously played a major role in the murder of Heather Stevens and caused the accident that put Phyllis Summers in a temporary coma. Furthermore, in one of their mind games, they pinned much of the blame on Sharon Newman, after spiking her medication. This led Sharon to believe she was indeed responsible for the crimes.
Now, even though Ian and Jordan have gone one step further in tormenting Sharon, it seems that their plotting is about to steer another way. Spoilers for the next week indicate that some of Ian's bad decisions might catch up with him, making him regret strong-arming Jordan into his schemes. Let us delve into what these aspects might be.
What does the next week look like for Ian and Jordan on The Young and the Restless?
Spoilers for the next week on The Young and the Restless indicate that one of Ian and Jordan's plans might be on the verge of collapse, throwing their dynamic into a frenzy. This might be the first time the two have a wrench thrown in their plans since their return to Genoa City.
Since the beginning, Jordan has been doing Ian’s bidding but has also made it clear that she expects Ian to hold up his end of the bargain. Jordan wants Ian to help her get back at Claire Grace and the Newman family, but Ian has not yet taken any steps to make that plan work out.
During the episode on January 3, 2025, Ian explained to Jordan that once he re-enters Mariah Copeland's life as a father figure, he would also get close to Claire by extension. However, in Ian's vision, this could only happen after they murder Sharon and put the blame for the act on Phyllis. Jordan seemed hesitant about this idea but was eventually forced to go along with the pre-existing plan.
It is possible that Jordan could tap into her dangerous side in the next week and choose to go rogue. This might lead to a serious disadvantage for Ian, and even result in him being caught by the police for his activities across town.
On the other hand, the reason for Ian's downfall might also be the Newman family. Nick Newman was seen telling his father Victor that Ian is back in town. Since Victor has been a target of Ian's many crimes in the past, he might be the one to launch a plan of his own against the villain.
Given that Victor Newman does not have an inclination to forgive a person, and can be quite ruthless when he knows someone is threatening his family, Ian might have a challenge on his hands.
