Claire Grace/Howard-Newman of The Young and the Restless recently brought Jordan Howard's story arc to an end. She single-handedly delivered retribution and terminated the evil aunt's malicious run in Genoa City. However, since her introduction in September 2023, Claire has made many U-turns that may have confused fans about the real person.
Claire, the daughter of Victori Newman and Cole Howard, was kidnapped at birth and raised by Jordan Howard for vengeance. After the revelation about her early life, her initial hatred for the Newmans changed, and she seemed to become a loyal Newman family member. She seemed to move on romantically with Kyle Abbott after being his son Harrison's nanny for some time.
While Claire's twist is new, The Young and the Restless has presented unexpected turns in its storyline since its premiere in March 1973. The long-running CBS daily soap involves the story arcs of various families residing in the fictional Genoa City.

The Young and the Restless: Recent plot dynamics involving Claire
Claire Grace, played by Erin Hayley, seemed to get suspicious about a woman she heard ordering Oolong tea, just the way Aunt Jordan liked. She managed to track her down and came face-to-face with Jordan on The Young and the Restless episode dated January 14, 2025.
Claire tried to convince Jordan about her displeasure with the Newman family while her aunt questioned her loyalty towards her.
A shaken Claire reached home and informed her mother, Victoria Newman, and her grandmother, Nikki Newman, that Jordan had escaped prison and was coming for them. She realized that Jordan would not stop her evil ways anytime soon, and the only way to thwart her would be to eliminate her.
While her mother and grandmother were upset with her murderous plan, Nikki soon came on board after realizing the truth of Claire's argument. Very unhappy to leave Claire with blood on her hands, Victoria reluctantly joined in with Claire and Nikki, while leaving the men out of the loop.
Claire announced to Jordan that she meant to kill her mother, Victoria, and flee with the inheritance money. She invited Aunt Jordan to join her. With this ploy, Claire lured Jordan to the Newman's house and served her poisoned tea. She goaded her aunt for information about the abducted Sharon.
Soon Nikki and Victoria arrived on the scene, as planned previously with Claire. Following this Claire convinced Jardan that this was all a trap and she must give out Sharon's whereabouts. Later Victor Newman and Nick Newman also arrived, while Nick received the information about Sharon's escape from captivity.
Seeing that she had lost her advantage in the situation, Jordan dark down the poisoned tea and knocked Victoria's phone off her hand when she tried to call the hospital. Eventually, Jordan died on the Newman ranch while Claire held her hands on The Young and the Restless Friday's episode dated January 24, 2025.

The Young and the Restless: Is Claire becoming vile again?
The Young and the Restless fans may remember Claire Grace was raised by Aunt Jordan to destroy the Newman to avenge Eve Howard's death. Unaware about the events after her birth, she harbored hatred for the Newman family to make her ruthless enough to drug and abduct Nikki.
However, after learning about the facts, her hatred turned towards Jordan Howard, particularly after Jordan kidnapped her along with little Harrison Abbott. After her release, Claire strove hard to fit in with the Newmans while being the lovable nanny for Harrison.
Recently, she joined Nikki in her business while dating Harrison's father, Kyle Abbott. Claire seemed to have got on track to a safe and happy life till she met Aunt Jordan again. To terminate Jordan's evil deeds, she planned her murder in cold blood. Moreover, she tricked the aunt and served her poisoned tea.
Additionally, she did not attempt to call the ambulance to help the poison victim even though Victoria asked her to. In a creepy move, Claire held the dying Jordan's hands as the latter breathed her last on The Young and the Restless Friday's episode.
While Jordan was a danger to Genoa City's residents, Claire's ruthlessness towards Jordan reminded fans that she was trained by the same aunt. Moreover, those who thought Claire was turning into a sweet young woman after her ordeal, felt taken aback by her ability to plan a murder with a cool disposition.
On one hand, it would seem that the transformed Claire has the brutal and cruel Claire hidden inside her. On the other hand, Kyle may not consider her safe to be left with Harrison after he learns about the incident. It may cause a rift in their newly formed romance.
