Faith Newman storylines on The Young and the Restless explored
Faith Newman was born to Nick and Sharon Newman in Genoa City, only to be kidnapped at birth by Adam Newman. She was found later and returned to her parents. Faith grew up in the Newman household after Nick went to court for full custody of her. She also formed close bonds with her grandparents Victor and Nikki Newman.
Faith's introduction as a teen began with the storyline of her mother Sharon battling breast cancer. Faith decided to stay in town to support her, but problems began to crop up. The story of Adam Newman kidnapping her leaked to her school, after which Faith was relentlessly bullied. She ended up befriending a senior girl named Jordan who encouraged Faith to go to parties and let loose a bit.
Because of Jordan's influence, Faith developed a drinking habit and even got suspended from school because of it. Her family tried to get her a therapist and talk about what she was facing, but Faith felt that the only one who helped her against the bullying was Jordan. Ultimately, even Jordan betrayed her after pretending to be a mysterious admirer and then releasing those texts to the school.
Faith felt humiliated after this and drove off angrily in a truck, which she later crashed. She was brought to a hospital where she recovered and promised to get better. However, the teen's troubles were not over. Soon after, she was diagnosed with interstitial nephritis because of her previous heavy drinking. She went through a kidney transplant for the ailment.
Recently, Faith began to toy with the idea of moving away to boarding school, but she was reluctant to leave town. Shortly after this, she was kidnapped by Cameron Kirsten, who held her as bait against Nick and Sharon.
Her parents searched a lot for their daughter and finally found the place where Faith was held captive. The teen went through a lot of trauma during her kidnapping ordeal, especially when Sharon killed Cameron. Additionally, the kidnapper had strapped a live bomb to her, which had to be defused. After this, Faith made the decision to leave Genoa City for her own safety and to cope with all the incidents that occurred with her.
