Phyllis Summers of The Young and the Restless is desperate to blame Sharon Newman for Heather's death. While the audience knows she wants to protect Daniel, it is difficult to see how she is convinced about Sharon's involvement. However, the relentless Phyllis will likely continue to badger Sharon until the latter unravels completely.

The Young and the Restless on CBS is one of the longest-running American daily soaps. The show, which premiered in March 1973, focuses on the relationship dynamics among some of the resident families of Genoa City, a fictional place.

While the plot revolves around the families of Newman, Abbott, Chancellor, Winters, and Baldwin-Fisher, Phyllis and Sharon are connected to the Newman family due to their past relationship with Nick Newman. Both women have a long-standing feud, and other residents believe Phyllis's current accusation is an extension of the same.

The Young and the Restless: Phyllis pushes for Sharon's confession

After Daniel was arrested for Heather's murder and temporarily released on bail, Phyllis Summers became desperate to protect her son. She believes Sharon has a hand in Heather's death, although she has no proof. Neither of her children nor Daniel's lawyer, Christine, supports this theory.

However, Phyllis wants to prove her theory right and is bluntly cornering Sharon into a confession. In the episode of The Young and the Restless that aired on November 4, 2024, Phyllis approached Sharon, claiming to have proof of the latter's involvement in the crime. While Sharon argued that Phyllis couldn't have any evidence since she didn't do anything, she looked disturbed.

Things escalated in The Young and the Restless episode dated November 6, 2024, when Phyllis handed a flower to Sharon to place on Heather's casket. As Daniel Romalotti delivered a eulogy for Heather, an upset Sharon tried to leave the room.

However, Phyllis called out to her. Instead of getting angry and accusing Sharon, Phyllis sobbed as she begged her to confess and save the innocent Daniel from prison.

The Young and the Restless: Where might Phyllis's action lead the story arc?

While Phyllis believes Sharon is Heather's killer, the audience is unsure due to Sharon's blackout at the precise time of the murder. To add to this, Chance Chancellor told Summer in the November 7, 2024, episode that he knows Sharon well enough to emphasize that she couldn't be the cold-blooded murderer.

There is no denying that Sharon was present at the crime scene, she dumped Heather's body, cleared out evidence, covered her tracks, and planted evidence in Daniel's house to frame him. As such, she is guilty of multiple crimes that she is desperate to keep under wraps. Moreover, Sharon believes she might have killed Heather, even though she has no memory of doing so.

Meanwhile, Phyllis has two emotions driving her currently. For one, she dislikes Sharon due to both women having married Nick Newman at some time in the past. Secondly, as his mother, Phyllis wants to shield Daniel from being accused of a crime she knows he didn't commit.

Since Daniel and Sharon have a history of past friction, Phyllis blames Sharon. However, she may also have a mother's instinct about Sharon's involvement in the matter. After accusing her angrily, Phyllis changed her tactic and begged for confession, reminding Sharon of who she was.

Whether Phyllis's multi-strategic and persistent attack badgers Sharon's mental strength and the latter confesses remains to be seen. Stay tuned to CBS every weekday to find out how the Sharon-Phyllis feud develops into a full-blown drama on The Young and the Restless.
