In recent episodes of The Young and the Restless, viewers have seen Mariah’s mother, Sharon, struggling with a mental health condition that has worried the entire family. Sharon's condition not only poses a danger to herself but also to those around her, as she is hallucinating her stalker, Cameron, due to her past trauma.

The already unstable mental health of Sharon Newman gets worse following Faith Newman's accident, which scratches memories of her daughter, Cassie, who died in a similar car crash in the episode aired on May 20, 2005. Looking at her mother’s condition, Mariah decides to use her old strategy of impersonating Cassie to help Sharon get out of her trauma.

Mariah Copeland on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless is played by Camryn Grimes since the role was introduced on the show on January 27, 2014. Mariah is the biological daughter of the late Frank Barritt (Phil Dozois) and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), who was adopted by Helen Copeland (Karina Hogue).

Mariah’s master plan to save Sharon on The Young and the Restless

Mariah's plan to save Sharon on The Young and the Restless comes from an emotional approach to rescue her mother. As Sharon can’t get rid of the haunting visuals of Cameron, which she sees all the time even after his death, and the heart-wrenching memories of her daughter Cassie, Mariah decides to use her old plan that could help her mother and save her life.

Back in the past, Mariah pretended to be her late twin sister, Cassie, to get a confession from Alice, who was part of a s*x trafficking group. Now that Sharon is deeply affected by Cassie's death, Mariah is thinking about using the same trick again.

She hopes that by pretending to be Cassie, she can connect with Sharon on a more emotional level, something that Nick, Mariah, or Faith haven't been able to do with just words.

Mariah hopes that her move could shock Sharon, which might help her see things clearly and admit she needs help. But this plan could also backfire, as Sharon might see it as mean, and it could hurt their relationship even more.

Even though it's risky, Mariah is ready to try because she believes that this might be the only way to help her mom get better. As Mariah gets ready for this bold plan, the big question is, Will pretending to be Cassie help Sharon face reality or make her problems worse?

Cameron's memory keeps bothering her, leading Sharon to act more wild and dangerous, like getting angry at people close to her. As she loses her hold on reality, Sharon might start following a darker path.
