Although Daniel Romalotti had asked Sharon to give the event a miss, Sharon attended the funeral, as Phyllis had anticipated. Phyllis Summers, played by Michelle Stafford, had told Summer about her plan to corner Sharon at the funeral in the previous episode.
She started putting Sharon Newman ill at ease by offering her the flower to be placed on Heather's casket. Next, when she found Sharon looking up at Heather's portrait, Phyllis asked bluntly whether Heather had looked the same when Sharon killed her. Phyllis Summers persisted even when Nick and Daniel forbade her from pushing her agenda forward.
Finally, during the tributes, Sharon found it tough to control her emotions. As she went to the stairs to collect herself, Phyllis reached her and accused her of causing Daniel's pain and tears. However, as she went ran out sobbing, her mental state seemed to be deteriorating. As such, Sharon's mental health will likely unravel faster than otherwise due to Phyllis's move.
