The Young and the Restless weekly recap from December 16 to 20, 2024- A stunning realization

The Young and the Restless brought another week of December to a close, with the plotlines of the characters progressing further. The week ended with a realization that made a breakthrough in one of the longest-running storylines of the show at present.

Sharon Newman underwent hypnosis and revisited her memories from the night of Heather's murder. She came to know that she had been pushed into a blackout by a gloved hand who had gone on to attack Heather. It remains to be seen how this perspective is presented in court during her case.

Meanwhile, the Abbott family worried about their strained equations with each other, especially Kyle and Diane. Nate and Audra discussed searching for his half-brother Damien.

Monday, December 16: Hypnosis

Sharon welcomed Alan to her home to start her hypnosis procedure. Nick and Micahel were also present for the hypnosis when Sharon realized that she had not crashed into Phyllis' car.

Ian spied on Claire and remembered Jordan's anger at the fact that the Newmans had taken her niece from her. He also returned to the motel and told Jordan it was time for Ian to be out of the picture. Billy and Phyllis discussed her feeling betrayed that her friend Micahel was taking Sharon's side and became her attorney for the Heather case.

Tuesday, December 17: Mending Relationships

Diane and Kyle discussed their estranged relationship after Jack and Diane's orchestrated split. Then, Diane and Jack also voiced their worries about their son, hoping things would fall into place.

Claire started with her first day at Chancellor with Nikki. Nate was informed that his private investigator had zeroed in on his half-brother's whereabouts: Damien was in Los Angeles but constantly on the move, pursuing a string of jobs.

Wednesday, December 18: Sorting Strife

Jack and Traci met at the Abbott house, and he discussed his worries about Kyle with her. He also equated the situation between Kyle and Diane to the strife he had with his own mother, as Traci comforted him that it would all work out.

At Crimson Lights, Diane shared some of her own worries with Esther. Meanwhile, on a dinner date, Kyle and Claire shared conversations about Diane and how Claire's first day at work went.

Thursday, December 19: Realization

Daniel, Phyllis, Summer, and Lucy shared some family time in an attempt to get over Heather's death and prepare for the Christmas season. Daniel and Phyllis also had a separate conversation, during which they discussed Billy's offer to take Victor down.

At Sharon's house, she asked Nick if she could undergo hypnosis again since she wanted to recall what happened with Heather. After the hypnosis, Sharon realized that Heather was conscious before Sharon blacked out. She realized that a gloved hand had grabbed her and forced her into unconsciousness before moving on to Heather.

Friday, December 20: The plan ahead

Ian went to Crimson Lights and met Tessa. Unknowingly, the latter also showed him photos of Mariah and their daughter Aria. Ian and Jordan discussed their memories of the past and the plans they wanted to make for their future in Genoa City.

Nick and Michael conversed about what to do after the hypnosis, realizing that they could not take a hypnosis confession to court in Sharon's defense.
