The Young and the Restless weekly recap from December 30, 2024 to January 3, 2025: A New Year and a new challenge to face

The past week on The Young and the Restless marked the end of December and ushered in the first month of 2025. As always, the drama unfolded across multiple storylines for the characters in Genoa City.

Victor and Nikki celebrated New Year as they hoped Sharon's case would get resolved soon, if only for Nick and Faith's sake. Ian and Jordan made a dangerous move to bring Sharon away from her loved ones. Danny returned to Genoa City to surprise Christine, while Claire and Kyle celebrated the beginning of 2025 together.

The week also featured two episode reruns for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. These were a repetition of the episodes aired previously on November 8, 2024, and April 6, 2006, respectively.

Monday, December 30: A Party to remember

Phyllis struggled with unresolved feelings toward Christine and Michael, particularly concerning their involvement in Sharon’s case. Claire was seen bonding with the Newman family.

Tessa began to feel unwell at the New Year Party, where she stumbled into Ian. Coming over to look for her partner, Mariah recognized Ian. Meanwhile, Jordan chloroformed Sharon and abducted her.


Tuesday, December 31: Rerun episode

The soap aired a repeat telecast of the episode on November 8, 2024. This was due to the holiday special runs on CBS.

In the past episode, Victor brought Nikki home and surprised her with the Newman Ranch, fresh from its renovation. On the other hand, Devon and Abby finalized their wedding plans.

Wednesday, January 1: Rerun episode

For the New Year holiday, the soap released a repeat telecast episode, this one from April 6, 2006, taking the audiences back in time.

The past episode revolved around Sharon confronting Phyllis about her affair with Nick. Audiences saw the rivalry that has marked the lives of the two women ever since. Additionally, Jack dealt with a crisis at Jabot while Victoria kept a secret from her then-partner, Brad.

Danny reunited with Christine, expressing how grateful he was to be back with her. Meanwhile, Jack and Diane reflected on the past year's struggles while Lauren and Michael continued to enjoy the party and each other's company.

Mariah feared for Tessa's safety after seeing her with Ian, though Tessa and Ian explained that he was only trying to help during her asthma attack. Nick arrived at the scene just then and got into a tense interaction with Ian, who claimed he was a reformed man after his prison stint.

Friday, January 3: Suspense builds

Kyle and Claire rang in the new year with a romantic night together. Phyllis went through a flashback of her car accident and realized that Sharon was not the person behind the wheel. Meanwhile, Ian and Jordan kidnapped Sharon and plotted her death, intending to frame Phyllis for it.

Nick was seen being highly suspicious of Ian, especially given his history of terrorizing the Newman family. He also realized Sharon was missing and immediately roped his father, Victor, into the mission to find and rescue her.
