The Young and the Restless weekly recap (September 23 to 27, 2024): Sharon's horrifying impulsive act

From September 23 to 27, the storyline of The Young and the Restless mainly focused the spotlight on Sharon. As the character's mental health deteriorated, she broke into Daniel's house and nearly poisoned his whiskey. She even had a fatal encounter with Heather, which did not end well.

Additionally, the soap also celebrated actress Sharon Case's 30th anniversary. The week's final episode on Friday was dedicated to the actress and the character, as a compilation of some of Sharon's most iconic moments in the story were featured.

Monday, September 23: Fights all around

Audra and Sally had a conversation about Adam, where Sally confessed that she was unable to shut down her feelings for Adam, even though he cheated on her with Chelsea. Meanwhile, Billy and Adam had a physical confrontation which Phyllis had to step in and stop.


Tuesday, September 24: What will she do?

Nick and Mariah discussed Sharon's condition with Tessa. All of them worried about her and how she was behaving erratically. Even Faith was worried about her mother and said as much to Adam when she met him out at a park.

Sharon was even the topic of discussion for Heather and Daniel as they made up with each other after disagreements. Meanwhile, Sharon had a hallucination at her motel. She considered taking poison to simply end the pain, but her vision of Cameron convinced her to punish the person responsible for her grief. Sharon immediately pinpointed Daniel and decided that he must die.


Wednesday, September 25: Poisoned mind

Phyllis and Summer had a conversation over lunch. Nick consoled Faith after hearing that Adam had found her crying in the park. He tried to assure her that everything would be alright with Sharon.

Sharon snuck into Daniel's house and poisoned his whiskey, egged on by Cameron. However, she saw a framed picture of Daniel with his family and was reminded of her own. She emptied out the poisoned drink but ended up smashing glass all over the floor. As Sharon tried to leave, she came face-to-face with Heather.


Thursday, September 26: A crime is afoot

The episode mainly focused on Heather and Sharon's confrontation. Heather asked Sharon why she was in the apartment and refused to accept flimsy excuses. After she threatened to call the police, Sharon knocked the phone out of her hands and then blacked out.

When Sharon regained consciousness, Heather was on the ground with a bloodied head. Crying, Sharon wrapped Heather up in a sheet and cleaned the scene on Cameron's orders. She drove up to a bridge and threw the bundled body into the river, breaking down as she did so.


Friday, September 27: An ode to an anniversary

Sharon visited Cassie's grave and thought back to memories from her past. The episode mainly consisted of flashbacks for Sharon's story, a tribute to actress Sharon Case and her 30 years on the soap.
