Bo Brady actor Peter Reckell is interested in appearing on Days of Our Lives again, as are his fans. His long presence has been on the backburner in the storyline, put on hold due to a cryofreeze and then, a coma, would likely spell a return sometime in the future. However, there is no news from the production team about his return as of now.
Newly indicted viewers of Days of Our Lives may not know much about Bo Brady's character. He started on the soap as a rebellious character who met Hope Williams, fell in love, and married her despite many odds in their relationship. Bo and Hope separated and reunited numerous times. Their tumultuous relationship included love triangles, family feuds, long separations, Bo's undercover work, and his brain tumor.
Days of Our Lives: A brief sketch of Bo Brady
Bo Brady's character, played by Peter Reckell, originated on Days of Our Lives in May 1983. Supposedly born in November 1963 to Caroline Brady, he was the youngest child of Shawn Brady till it was revealed that Victor Kiriakis was his biological father. Bo joined the Salem Police Department as a detective.
The most important event of Bo's life was meeting Hope, played by Kristian Alfonso, and they instantly connected. Hope divorced Larry after a brief marriage to be with Bo. However, their happiness was marred by the revelation of Bo's paternity, and the couple moved into the Kiriakis mansion.
After a miscarriage, the couple had their first child, Shawn-Douglas, and the happy family went on a world tour. However, an explosion presumably killed Hope, and Bo returned to Salem with his son. While Bo tried to move on romantically with Carly Manning and Billie Reed, he could never let go of Hope.
When Hope was found alive, they united. The couple, who had three kids, faced many problems in their marriage. Their middle child, Zack, was killed in a hit-and-run case by Chelsea Brady, who turned out to be Bo's daughter, Georgia, from his ex-wife Billie Reed.
On the other hand, Stefano brainwashed Hope into believing she was an art thief. After recovering, the strain on their marriage continued, leading to Hope turning towards Patrick Lockhart. While she became pregnant, the baby's father was revealed to be Bo.
Despite the various ups and downs in their relationship, Bo worked hard on his career, ending up as the Police Commissioner of Salem. Hope, on the other hand, struggled with Bo's health issues, such as a pancreatic transplant from donor Chelsea and blacking-out episodes.

The dedicated cop, Bo, went undercover to investigate Stefano DiMera's actions. However, he was kidnapped and held captive by criminals who wanted information from him about the new drug Victor Kiriakis was developing. With Bo missing from Salem, Hope assumed he had abandoned the family. She divorced him and married Aiden Jennings. Bo escaped captivity and returned to Salem, just when Aiden was trying to kill Hope.
Soon Bo was diagnosed with a brain tumor that was beyond surgery. Bo reunited with his family and bid them an emotional farewell as he died in Hope's arms.
In 2022, a Days of Our Lives spinoff titled Beyond Salem saw Bo stuck in the afterlife watching Hope get entangled with a former love, Harris Michaels.
In 2023, it was revealed that Megan Hathaway had saved Bo and kept him in a cryogenic freeze. She planned to manipulate Bo into falling in love and marrying her. When Bo woke up, he found himself in the DiMera lab with most of his memory wiped away.
When he ran into Hope, he didn't remember her and threatened to kill her. Hope spoke with him and tried to jog his memory. As his memory returned and he recognized Hope, Shawn-Douglas shot him, believing he was going to hurt Hope. Bo fell into a coma and has been comatose since.
