General Hospital storylines showcase the love, rivalry and dynamics of the residents of the fictional city of Port Charles, New York, created by Frank and Doris.

Brad was originated by Marcus Toji on February 13, 2013, but Parry Shen took over the role on May 6, 2013, and continued to portray it to date. Brad is a recurring character who appears in General Hospital as per the needs of the storyline.

The character is introduced as a lab technician, but as the storyline progresses, his unethical acts led him to prison in 2020.

General Hospital: Brad's storyline

Parry as Brad Cooper debuted in 2013. Brad was introduced as a lab technician, who immersed himself into questionable activities for his career growth.

He got involved in various unethical acts, including helping Britt Westbourne with her plan to pass off Patrick Drake’s unborn child as his, although it was conceived with another man’s sperm.

Brad's life took a significant turn when he met Lucas Jones, son of Bobbie Spencer and Tony Jones, a doctor at General Hospital. Eventually, they developed a serious romance and got engaged in 2015. As their love blossomed, they decided to adopt a baby, but after adoption, their baby died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Brad was distraught and swapped the baby with Nelle Benson, who had given birth to Michael Corinthos’ son. Brad took Nelle’s baby (Wiley), passing him off as his and Lucas’ adopted son.

As the years passed by, he grew more anxious, fearing the truth might be revealed. Furthermore, in 2020, Brad was exposed, devastating Lucas and Michael. He was arrested and sent to prison.

Brad served in Pentonville Prison, trying to redeem his past actions. His friendship with Britt continued to play a significant role in his storyline. He was released from prison and continues to navigate his life in the show.

Parry's comeback as Brad in General Hospital

On August 19, 2024, Brad was back in Port Charles as he begs Terry to hire him for the new lab tech position. However, Terry seems hesitant, given Brad's history but he assures that he has improved, to which she believes and eventually helps him secure the job.

Parry took to Instagram and posted a video with Backstreet Boys playing at the end. He captioned the post:

"Let’s see what’s in store for Brad this time around in Port Charles! #GH"

In an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest on August 19, 2024, when asked about his reaction to General Hospital calling him, he replied:

"Like hearing from old friends I haven’t spoken to in a while."

The actor was also asked about his reunion scene with Cassandra James (Terry). He quoted:

"We had gotten the script with just two days’ notice, which is rare, but it sometimes happens. I know it took me 18 hours straight to get entirely off book. And when we first rehearsed, Cassandra was 100% ready as well."

He continued, that he didn't know her process, and it was like an unspoken moment that he took note of. He ended the statement:

"We’ve both been so honed to work quickly in this format, one that many newer actors to the medium usually (and understandably) would totally freak out about."
