Cassie Newman was born on January 8, 1991, to Sharon Collins and her boyfriend Frank.

Sharon gave her daughter up for adoption, as she was not in a place to take care of her. Six years after this incident, Sharon married Nicholas Newman and had a son, Noah, who was severely ill and had a near-death experience.

The fear of Noah’s death led Grace Turner, a friend of Sharon and Nicholas, on a quest to find the daughter Sharon had given up. Grace found Cassie, who was given up by Alice Johnson because she had to take care of her mother. But before Grace could give Cassie back to Sharon, she found out that Noah survived and, hence, kept Cassie with her.

Nearly a year later, Sharon learned that Cassie is her daughter. Grace tried to run away with Cassie, but Sharon and Nicholas compromised her plan. Sharon finally got her daughter back as the couple invited a new member to their family.

In 2003, Frank showed up in Salem after years when he learned that Cassie, his biological daughter, almost drowned in a frozen pond.

Frank wanted to meet hus daughter once, but before he could meet her, Cameron Kristen murdered him and framed Sharon for it. As Cassie got to know the truth about her father, she was miserable about what happened to him and that she couldn’t meet him even once.

As Cassie grew up, she developed a crush on Daniel Romalotti and liked hanging out with teenagers like Lily Winters, Collen Carlton and Devon Hamilton. To get accepted in an older teen group, she started behaving recklessly and rude to her parents to look cool.

In her last episodes of The Young and the Restless, Cassie attended a party with Daniel and her friends where they all were highly intoxicated, with Daniel passing out. As Cassie saw that Daniel was not in a condition to drive, she drove them home to the Newman Ranch even though she was drunk, below the age and had no driving license.

Cassie couldn’t drive too far, as she crashed the car. Daniel and Cassie were both injured, but Cassie was far more critical and lost her life. Since then, the viewers see Sharon and Nichlos coming together every year on May 24 to remember their daughter, Cassie.

Even though Cassie is dead, Cameryn keeps appearing as a soul on The Young and the Restless. In 2014, Cameryn joined the cast back as Cassie’s twin sister, Mariah, who was unknown to everyone.
