The American daily soap General Hospital is facing a recast in October 2024, as one of the principal characters, Michael Corinthos, will have actor Robert Adamson replace Chad Duell for one episode. Chad has been the face of Michael on the soap since 2010, except when he temporarily left for a few episodes in 2022. Adamson replaced Duell in 2022 and is back to do so again.
One of the longest-running soap operas, airing since April 1963, General Hospital has featured numerous characters. Their story arcs are intertwined in the plot, which revolves around the titular hospital with its staff and patients in the fictional town of Port Charles. The storyline additionally includes the city's mobsters and law enforcers.
Michael Corinthos belongs to the family of mob boss Sonny Corinthos and was played by various actors and child artists until Duell stepped into the role.

Soap Opera Digest reported on October 28, 2024, that actor Chad Duell, who played Michael Corinthos, was temporarily leaving GH. While the news came as a shock, Robert Adamson of The Young and the Restless fame stepped into the role. He appeared on the soap on the episode dated October 29, 2024.
Adamson is not new to playing Michael Corinthos. He was previously seen filling in for Duell in 2022 for about eight episodes. During his last stint in General Hospital, Adamson's Michael joined Willow in court, fighting Nina over visitation rights for Wiley.
Later, he supported Willow when she feared for her and Michael's lives, having nightmares about Nelle returning to kill them. As such, on this Tuesday's episode, Adamson's Michael met his son, Wiley Corinthos, in his Halloween costume as Sherlock Holmes, as the child proclaimed having his father as Watson.
In another scene, he and Wiley walked in on Ned and Drew arguing as Tracy looked on. As Willow and Nina came into the room, the former declared she wanted to speak to Michael at the same time Drew wanted to talk to him. Michael decided to hear out Drew Cain first, who informed him about kissing his wife on the Fourth of July. A shocked Michael walked out of the room.

Chad Duell's journey on General Hospital as Michael Corinthos
Chad Duell took up the character of Michael in 2010 from the previous actor, Drew Garrett. Duell presented as a troubled young adult with issues of romantic alliances and other relationships. Freshly out of prison, Michael formed a quiet friendship with Abby but remained reluctant to talk about his past.
He finally opened up about being physically assaulted after seeing Abby's ex trying to r*pe her. While Sonny and Carly reacted in a supportive manner, Jason Morgan's support helped him move on the most. Over the years, Michael formed romantic relationships with Abby, Starr, Nelle, and Willow.
While upset with his biological father, AJ, and his mother, Carly, Michael went on to become a good father to his children, Jonah and Amelia.
Duell's Michael was seen on the soap in October 2024 as his onscreen romantic partner, Willow, was getting involved with Congressman Drew Cain. He was seen worried about Kristina and Molly's friction and supporting the other residents through Lulu's treatment options.
