Lucy Romalotti is sharing grief with her father, Daniel Romalotti, on The Young and the Restless after Heather's death. Heather, who was raising Lucy with Daniel, was not her biological mother. Lucy's mother was Daisy Carter, a mentally unstable character who indulged in evil actions throughout her three-year stay on the soap. Daisy was portrayed by actor Yvonne Zima.

The Young and the Restless fans know the American daily soap as one of the longest-running shows on CBS, airing since March 1973. The soap's plot presents the fictional city of Genoa, showcasing the dynamics between the various resident families.

The storyline follows various characters from their introduction through their development in the soap, with many characters moving in and out of the plot. One such character was Daisy Carter, who appeared between 2009 and 2012 on the show.

Daisy Carter, played by Yvonne Zima, was the daughter of Sheila Carter and Tom Fisher. She was introduced into the soap's storyline as Abby Newman's friend. She was working in Lauren Fenmore's boutique, but she and her brother came to town to avenge their mother, Sheila's death by Lauren. The brother-sister duo committed crimes in the city with help from their aunt Sarah and kidnapped Lauren.

Daisy's most intriguing story arc was her obsession with Daniel Romalotti. She drugged Daniel and forced him to be intimate with her, although he was married to Amber Moore. She got pregnant after the encounter but left town with her brother. However, later she arrived to announce her pregnancy.

While she was imprisoned for her crimes, Phyllis Summers, Daniel's mother, got her out and took care of her and the unborn baby. Although well cared for, Daisy tried to escape but went into labor at the side of the road in 2011. Daniel found her and helped her deliver the baby. However, when he refused her romantic advances, she hit him on the head and fled.

When she returned after a few months, it was revealed that the newborn baby Victoria Newman adopted was, in fact, Daisy and Daniel's baby, Lucy. While Daniel was ready to let go of his parental rights for the baby, Phyllis fought the custody rights, hoping Daisy would be put back in jail.

However, when Avery Bailey Clark helped Daisy's release, Daniel tried to fight for Lucy's custody but lost as the court gave the total right to Lucy's mother. Angry with Daniel and Phyllis for not accepting her as a family, Daisy walked out on Phyllis while the latter was miscarrying.

She then conned Kevin into giving her a job at Crimson Lights. Moreover, she dug up and threatened to expose Phyllis's past crime if they got her arrested. After being threatened by the criminal Ricky, Daisy disappeared from Genoa City and registered herself in the Fairview psychiatrist facility with the alias of Scarlett.

She met Sharon Newman at the psychiatrist hospital when Sharon checked into the facility. After Daisy's whereabouts came out, Michael got court orders to question her. However, before he could do so, Daisy was checked out of the facility by a woman who claimed to be Sheila Carter.

Daisy disappeared from The Young and the Restless storyline in 2012, and there is no information about her whereabouts for more than a decade now. Her daughter, Lucy Romalotti, arrived in Genoa City in February 2023.

The Young and the Restless: What are Lucy's current plot dynamics?

Daniel Romalotti and his daughter, Lucy, currently played by Lily Brooks O'Briant, settled in Genoa City in 2023 with Daniel's romantic partner Heather Stevens. She went through a teenage phase of rebellion and lying before getting stable after a road accident. She also found a friend and a senior to look up to in Faith Newman, Sharon's daughter.

Daniel, Lucy, and Heather made up a happy family as The Young and the Restless fans started hoping to see Daniel proposing to Heather an upcoming marriage. However, Heather was murdered, and Daniel was arrested for the crime. Although he was released on bail, his imprisonment will leave Lucy lonely.

Why is Daisy's reference significant in the current The Young and the Restless plot dynamics?

In a twist in the plot, Sharon's deteriorating mental health made her wrongly obsess over Daniel being Cassie's killer, a road accident in the past. To avenge Cassie's accidental death, Sharon landed in Daniel's home and encountered Heather. After an altercation, Sharon found Heather dead and went to great lengths to cover up her tracks and dispose of the body.

However, Heather's dead body was discovered, and the police got busy investigating the death. Since Sharon planted all the evidence in Daniel's house to implicate him, he was arrested by the police and released on bail. If Sharon is not the killer, the real murderer could be somebody else.

The Young and the Restless fans believe Daisy Carter has a motive to kill Heather since her daughter loves Heather. While there is no hint of Daisy's return to the plot, Sharon's crime is also left ambiguous.
