The Young and the Restless introduced Delia Abbott, the daughter of Billy Abbott and Chloe Mitchell, in 2006. However, Delia died in 2013 when Adam Newman ran her over in a hit-and-run. After realizing what he'd done, Adam attempted to cover his tracks, only to be sniffed out by Delia's father, Billy Abbot, and become the target of his revenge scheme.
Ever since her death, Delia has continued to appear in Billy's imagination, with her most recent appearance being in 2020 when she spoke with Billy in the Chancellor Mansion.
Numerous actors have played Delia since first appearing onscreen in 2009. These include Riley, Olivia, and Isabelle Jones from 2009-2010, Alix and Madeline Dubiois from 2010-2011, and Sophie Pollono from 2011 to 2013. Sophie also played Delia in her appearances as a posthumous character.
Who is Delia Abbott from The Young and the Restless?
Delia Abbott was born on February 14, 2006, to Billy Abbott and Chloe Mitchell. She had half-siblings from her parents' previous marriages. From her mother's side, her siblings were younger half-sister Bella Fisher and younger half-brother Miles Fisher. On her father's side, she had a younger half-brother, Johnny Abbott, and a younger half-sister, Katie Newman.
When Chloe Mitchell gave birth to Delia Abbott in The Young and the Restless, she lied about her daughter's paternity, claiming that Delia's father was Cane Ashby. An early story arc of Delia Abbott in The Young and the Restless had her suffering from leukemia. She eventually recovered, thanks to a bone marrow transplant.
Delia's character was killed off in the 2013 run of The Young and the Restless when Sophie Pollono played her. After performing the wicked witch role in a school play adaptation of The Wizard of Oz, Billy drove her home along with their dog Dash, who was untrained and off his leash.
Billy left Delia and Dash alone in the car to get some ice cream, and when Delia opened the car door so Dash could pee, the dog ran over to the highway and got in the way of a car. The car was being driven by Adam Newman, who swerved to avoid hitting Dash, only to unknowingly run over Delia instead.
Initially, Adam didn't realize what he'd done, only getting an inkling after seeing a news report of Delia's accident. He immediately covered his tracks by burning pieces of Delia's witch costume that had gathered under his tires and replacing his broken headlight.
Delia's death provided Adam's son, Connor, a solution to his eyesight problem, as her eyes were used for providing Connor with a cornea transplant.
Following Delia's death, her parents went through incredibly dark character arcs. Billy discovered that Adam was the one who'd run his daughter over, and went on a crusade for vengeance, kidnapping Adam at gunpoint in his SUV and forcing him to confess to the crime on tape. Adam tried to fight Billy for his gun, leading to the car crashing off a cliff. Billy survived the crash but left Adam behind to die.
Chloe, meanwhile, grew obsessed with Connor because he received Delia's eyes. Unable to accept the loss of her daughter, she became possessive of Connor and tried to abduct him, leading to her getting charged with the crime.
Delia Abbott's untimely death in 2013 has continued to impact The Young and the Restless. Delia Abbott (played by Sophie Pollono) most recently appeared in Billy's imagination in 2020.
