The Bold and the Beautiful casts twin babies to play their infant characters. This was also the case with Diana Carter, who had two sets of twin babies essaying the role in 2003.

The role debuted with the twins Skyla and Starla Thoma, with the twins Mason and Weston Bodle taking on the role briefly after them. However, the character has not been on the soap since then, and Diana Carter has not been essayed by any other actors.

In late 2023 and early 2024, fans of the soap were abuzz with the speculation that Diana Carter might be returning to the soap as a grown-up. This was prompted by the appearance of the name 'Diana' in a few social media videos and a brief mention in one of the episode credits. Fans believed that actress Kate Schettler was cast in the role of Shiela's daughter.
