Dillon Quartermaine was the son from the troubled marriage of Tracy Quartermaine and Paul Hornsby.

One year after his birth, Tracy violated the custody agreement with her ex-husband and fled with her baby to New York City, where he'd be featured in the short-lived General Hospital spin-off titled The City.

By 2003, Dillon had been aged up to a teenager and was living with his grandparents, Lila and Edward Quartermaine. To the disappointment of his parents, Dillon developed a romance with Georgie Jones.

Dillon got involved with the mob, thanks to becoming an errand boy for Lorenzo Alcazar, putting a strain on his relationship. Tracy took advantage of this tension by trying to pressure Georgie into breaking up with him, in exchange for forcing him out of the mob.

As a result, Dillon became crestfallen and had an affair with Lorenzo's cousin, Sage Alcazar. Georgie was devastated on learning this but eventually reconciled with Dillon.

When a deadly viral outbreak ravaged Port Charles, Dillon believed he was on his deathbed and proposed to marry Georgie. The parents reluctantly agreed to this arrangement, but Dillon survived the illness after the marriage.

Later, Lulu Spencer tried to drive a rift between the couple by deceiving Dillon into believing his wife was cheating on him with Diego Alcazar. This attempt at seduction succeeded, and Dillon sleeps with Lulu, only to be horrified on learning the truth. This infidelity causes Dillon and Georgie to divorce as Lulu discovers her pregnancy.

Lulu gets an abortion, not feeling ready to be a mother, and Dillon gives his blessing. Dillon subsequently leaves Port Charles for California to pursue a filmmaking career after Ned Quartermaine connected him to his favorite director.

After this point, Dillon returned to Port Charles twice, once for the funeral of Emily Quartermaine, and then to reconcile with Georgie. The second visit, though, was for naught due to Georgie's murder by the Text Message Killer, who was none other than Diego Alcazar.

From 2015 onwards, Dillon Quartermaine was played by Robert Palmer Watkins on General Hospital. Dillon got wind of Tracy's marriage to Luke Spencer and tried to put a stop to it. Tracy eventually talked him out of his resistance, and he supported her decision.

When Frank Smith kidnapped Lucky and Ethan Spencer, Dillon went to Canada with Lulu to rescue them. Dillon began falling for Lulu again, but she rebuffed his advances, citing her marriage to Dante Falconeri. He then tried dating Lulu's cousin, Valerie Spencer, but that didn't work out either.

After Dillon befriended Kiki Jerome and comforted her over the sudden death of her boyfriend, Morgan Corinthos, the two fell in love and became a couple. Dillon subsequently left Port Charles again when he got a new movie gig in California.
